tourist visa problems mendoza-chile?

I've been here on a tourist visa for about a year and have several trips back and forth to Colonia stamped on my passport.

Have any permatourists done the bus trip from Mendoza to Santiago (Chile) and had problems with the migraciones officials on the border?

I know the guys at Buquebus are used to seeing permatourists renewing their visas so usually don't pay much heed, but thought maybe the officials up in Mendoza might be stricter.

Or maybe they won't be as strict the farther away they are from Buenos Aires. Who knows ? Do us a favor and post about your experience if you head to and from Santiago.
