TransferWise comes to Argentina

azimo rates (above official and closer to blue rate) have passed out transferwise (official rate) now
will transferwise always be using official rates ?

Hello everyone. Wondering if you can help me. Im currently a permanent resident in Argentina. Does anyone know if TW is monitored by AFIP or if TW share any financial data with AFIP? Thank you.

They won't even let you transfer more than the limits. It changed to $200 (in ars) a month the day the controls were updated.

Thanks! My employer is from the US and they could wire my salary to my TW and then I could wire that to a "cueva". My question is if AFIP and TW interchange financial data. Do you know? Thanks!

I'd assume any legal licensed financial service that operates in Argentina is obligated to share financial data with AFIP. I'm not 100% sure though.

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I'll stay put for now and have my employer wire my salary to my argentine bank as usual. Thank you, both.

Does TW work for transferring USD out of Argentina (e.g. to US bank) as well?

It does for 200 dollars a month.

I understand that this limit applies if one pays in peso.
But what if source money are in USD as well? For instance, in USD-account in one of Argentine banks.
Does this $200 limit applies as well? I expect not.
