Hi All,

I'm planning a trip to BA the last week in March and the first week in April. I just found out that April 2nd (Malvinas Day), April 5th (Maundy Thursday) and April 6th (Good Friday) are public holidays. How is the city on those days? Is it dead and everyone with their families? Shops and restaurants open/closed? Should I rethink going during that week?

Thanks a lot.

April 4th will be the busiest travel day of the year. People will be flooding out of the city for Semana Santa.

I don't know how April 2nd is going to be handled. I don't think that it's a national holiday, but maybe it will be by then. Some people might just take the entire week off, but I don't know.

It should be a great week to visit with a lot of the locals out of town (less crowded everywhere). I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Hi there!

While many people take off during those holidays, the city is still quite alive. You may be unable to visit some public venues, but otherwise I trust you can quite enjoy it.
Restaurant and bars will be open for sure. As for shops, many will be close but those in shopping malls, for example, will not.

If you want, let me know when you are here and I can show you around.

Regards

It already is.

And also, Thursday 6th is not actually feriado. In that week, only Monday (2nd) and Friday (7th).

Just remember, that there won't be much access to banks, so make sure beforehand you have the cash you need!
