Does anyone know where I can buy vanilla extract for baking?

try chinatown. usually the extract is artificial.

Jumbo and other supermarkets have it easily available. Chinatown is a good place to go if you want it fresh - although some veg shops will have it.

It is also my favourite word to pronounce in porteño; Baneescha!

Just picked up a little bottle at Disco a couple of days ago. I haven't had any trouble finding vanilla, although as Katti mentioned, it's artificial.

Also the small shop exactly at the corner of Bonpland & Cabrera sells the real stuff, imported from France/La Réunion and not too expensive (should be around 10/15 pesos each now)

Many dieteticas stock real vanilla extract. I've gotten whole beans (soft & supple, not old & dried out) at Bodega Amparo on Darwin between Gorreti y Cabrera.
