Vegetables are taking Argentina’s carnivorous capital by storm

I had steak and eggs for breakfast, with a small piece of lomo left over from last night's dinner. I got enough lomo for dinner and this breakfast, plus one chorizo I used to make pasta sauce, all for 1400 pesos - call it 4 USD.

From what I've seen, you'd pay more for the vegan substitutes.

It's not about money
 
there are definitely more alternatives than a few years ago.

vegan fox in palermo makes pretty good plant based burgers. it's clearly not the same as beef, but in general i think they are pretty tasty.
