Visiting Argentina end of January for 2 weeks

Hello!
I have never been to BA but i will be visiting a friend at the end of January for 2 weeks and since looks like i will have to spend some time exploring the city while he is at work by myself i am looking for idea on things to do and/or people to meet while i am there.
