Anyone here have experience with price/quality/brand for a wedding suit? Trying to decide if I get one here or from overseas.

How many times are you going to get married in it?
I bought one, once, 40 years ago. Wore it once. Wouldnt fit anymore, even if I wanted to wear it.
You can buy a variety of suits in Argentina. Prices are higher than chain stores in the USA selling bangladeshi made stuff, but convenience and waiting times are much less. I suppose if you were flying to Hong Kong anyway, I would buy one there, but if it was me, I would just go to a few places here, accept the fact that you may pay a hundred bucks or even two more than you would in NYC or London, and be done with it.
Go posh, and go to James Smart.
Go Socialist, and buy one from the Cooperativa 18 de Decembre (formerly Brukman) or just wander thru a few Shoppings, and pick one. There are several places on Santa Fe that sell Ambos, most will tailor to fit.

If you buy one overseas, i.e. anywhere but Argentina, you can likely sell it later for the same price you paid. This benefits you and it benefits a buyer as you provide a fair price for a higher quality product than is available locally.

By a 'wedding suit' you mean a normal business suit?

If you need a tuxedo: One of my sons married in BA a year or so ago and, as he would have if living in the USA, he simply rented a tux. I don't know from where but if you need me to I could find out.

I thought a tuxedo was called a "smoking" here. I dont know what a "wedding suit" is- is it a suit the groom wears, or just your one good suit you wear to other people's weddings? I own a dozen or so suits, I wear em all to weddings, depending on my mood. My own wedding, I wore a white wool 3 piece. Anyway, its sale season on suits in BA right now, and there are a lot of places with them in the 10,000 peso range. Which isnt that much for a suit. Most reputable brand, mass market suits for sale in the USA, like Kenneth Cole, start at around $250 US, and its very easy to spend $500 to $1000 for a mass produced suit in the USA. Amazon does have hundred dollar suits listed, but you get what you pay for.

yes, it's called 'smoking' but I have never seen it used for a wedding in Argentina.
