Can somebody explain me what's going on by the Congress now?
Is this about the pension reform?

Not sure exactly why they were protesting but I saw a lot of police road blocks, some broken windows, a completely burnt van and fires in the streets. You should be able to get information by reading the news.

Clarifies things a little I think in English.

The President derogated tax to rich people/companies (soy, mining) and now there is a strong fiscal deficit that he wants to compensate cutting the pentions. It like Robin Hood but upside down. This cause a high resistance and the President sent people who are not Congressman to vote because they couldn’t acchieve the quorum. This is ehy the session failled. Even the allies of the government rjected this law.

Meanwhile they militarized the Congress are and the represion of people who was protesting, congresmen included was brutal.

Welcome to the the Revolution of happiness.

Saw some police barricades at 3 AM Monday morning Dec. 18 near the congreso. Looks like they're getting ready for another protest today. Traffic could be very congested.

Was going to see The Messiah at the Cathedral this afternoon but understandably that's now been cancelled.

It looks like quorum has been achieved and the president's plan can now move forward. The rock throwers can now go home and return to their regular routine whatever that is.

I spent some time watching the protest.

Lawless scum, who have no regard for human life. Multiple police injured, as well as a good few demonstrators - helped by the police, of course.

That people are willing to cynically stir up this level of lawlessness, and then turn around and protest police brutality, is just low.

=====

EDIT: After hours of hurling rocks, Molotov cocktails, and more at police officers, after charging them as if it's war, after torching a police motorcycle, all with impunity, the police finally started arresting people. Amazing how quickly people started dispersing. These thugs are cowards too.

Macri should have personally gone yesterday on cadena nacional, and made some things clear.

We welcome debate, indeed we welcome protest as well. We will always defend people's right to protest.

And but some things are not considered protest, they are considered insurrection, rebellion, and will be treated as such. These include just about anything that infringes the rights of other Argentines. Your right to protest the pensions does not mean your neighbors has to miss their flight. Or can't come to work. You block roads, you vandalize property, and you are worse than a common hooligan - you are trying to break down our society. That justifies at least rubber bullets.

Attacking police? Street violence? The time has come to stop treating that as legitimate. It is not. It is thuggery. And we will treat it with the violence it deserves.
