Hi,

I know this is a ridiculous question... but I cannot find a standard (manual) can opener anywhere so far.
I've looked in Carrefour, Disco and Coto... no luck.
Plus several other small shops.

Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

Jumbo Palermo sells the ILKO brand. They are very good.

The ILKO cookware is also very good for the price...not so thin and they have "cool" handles.

at a carrefour a while back, not the best I've had, not the worst, the cans are open at the end!

Yes that's exactly the kind I'm looking for... strangely my local Carrefour here in Recoleta (which is huge) does not carry those.
I'm going to try Coto down at Viamonte and Montevideo right now and see if they have one.
Muchas Gracias :)

Success... I found one at a homeware type place at the corner of Libertad and Sante Fe. The prices in there a bit high on some items though... a crappy quality wine bottle opener (the kind with the handles you pull down) is aprox. $13 USD!
The same thing would be maybe $4 back home... ah well, at least I got a decent can opener and some bottle stoppers.

I bought mine in the US. Like tons of stuff I have in the kitchen. Made in China, purchased in the USA, flown down to Argentina in a suitcase.

If you want, you can compare & contrast on Av. Jujuy between Av. San Juan and Av. Juan de Garay in the restaurant/kitchen supply area.

It's a trek, but they've got everything.
