Why off-duty cops in second jobs ‘kill and die more’ in recession-hit Argentina

Here’s a perfect example of that. This happened in Gerli a suburb of Quilmes two weeks ago. The video shows the victim with his wife arriving home after making a large cash withdrawal from a nearby bank. The thief with the gun didn’t know that the “easy looking” victim, the man in red and black top was a retired cop. He shoots the robber twice in the chest point blank. He stumbled about 20 feet before dropping dead. The irony is that the gun the thief was using was a plastic replica.
He couldn’t have killed anything. I keep wondering what was the thief thinking those last 15 seconds of his life.
And here’s another example except the thieves were armed with real guns. Both were killed. The police officer was shot three times but survived. This last one happened in a suburb of Moreno two weeks ago.
