Withdrawing usd - in cara grande

Hi all. Has anyone here with a usd bank account had any luck recently withdrawing ‘cara grande’ usd bills from their bank?

We tried 3 banks today around villa crespo and caballito and all only had cara chica..

Have you tried to schedule an appointment with them to reserve 100-dollar bills of the right type?

I didn't know that banks have "cara chica" bills. Previously they offered only "cara grande" bills with or without metal stripe for withdrawals.

We asked about arranging a time , but they said that they didn’t expect to receive any cara grande

Returning to the UK recently, we've had difficulties changing some cara Chica notes for GBP. It seems that some of the notes still circulating in Argentina are so old that British banks no longer have the resources to verify them and we'll need to physically change them at a US bank.
