Xmas Gifts For Building Staff

Hello all

K and I are planning to give a small Christmas gift to the doormen and cleaners in our building. Any cultural issues to consider? Wouldn't want to make people feel obliged to reciprocate.

We're thinking a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. Or would money be more appreciated/appropriate?

It is quite a common thing to do so no awkwardness there about reciprocating. I would give cash as cleaning staff does not earn much and with the recent price increases it will be more difficult to have a good ,abundant family Christmas.

person who cleans my building: nothing. we used to all pitch in to get her a basket of goodies but now we all hate the woman, and she makes more than most of us.
