Argentine Performers 2014 Season at Teatro Colon begins Sunday, March 16

Tickets are FREE and given out on a first-come, first-served basis at the Box Office on the Friday before each concert date at 10:00am. If you want main floor seats, be there by 9:00am. Up to four tickets per person.

Any idea what time you must be there at Grand Rex to assure entrance?

To assure entrance, be in line by 12:30 before they open the doors. Once they reach capacity, they close the doors. No one can enter the auditorium once the concert begins. If you are particular about where you sit in this very large theater, get in line no later than noon.

Waiting in line (at the bank, at the theater, etc) is a national pastime. Free cultural events in Buenos Aires are the best reason I have for standing in line. I meet so many Argentines who tell me about other concerts. Marta (gray hair in a bun) is in her 80s and has a front row seat at every concert I attend. You'll spot her at the Gran Rex.

By the way, Marta told me yesterday after Ballet Folklorico Nacional that tickets for this Sunday's 11:00am concert at Teatro Colon will be handed out tomorrow from 10am instead of today (because it's a religious holiday). Marta will be in the first row at Teatro Colon as always.
