Who has left or is planning to leave?

I spent time in Argentina in 1996 when I decided to expatriate the US but decided against because it was tired and poorly run. Cobbled together a nomadic lifestyle between urban Taiwan and rural Japan and couldn't be happier. Taipei for work, city life and Hokkaido for peace, quiet, food and...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

No one was suggesting that Argentinians move to Taiwan, but you already know that. The point is that if Argentina really want to solve its problems rather than just live with them there are plenty of examples of other countries around the world which have less to work with yet have minimal...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

Meanwhile the annual inflation rate here in Taiwan is 1.8% - in a country with no natural resources other than its people’s willingness to work hard to create the goods and services that constitute true prosperity and a government that facilitates that hard work.

East of Phoenix you say? One of the big advantages of retaining a foothold in Argentina is it doesn’t have any of these ground zero nuclear targets if and when WW3 breaks out: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-map-nuclear-war-russia-b2279249.html...

The global business elite is infatuated with Milei

If Milei were smart he‘d announce that Argentina is now officially “open for business” and that 2025 will be the Year of the Entrepreneur with special incentives and startup friendly regulations.

Government can't create prospertiy. It can only create optimum conditons for the creation of wealth. If the people of Argentina have lost the entrepreneurial spirit no government can create the goods and services necessary for true prosperity.

I'm a PNW native. Lived all over the region. Sherwood/Newberg, Oregon are what you're looking for. Has the best mix of everything. I still spend several months a year there though I primarily live in Taiwan and rural Japan.

Milei's first speech as a president

Living within your means (aka austerity) restores the integrity of your economic system but it's only half the solution. The other half is to increase your means by producing enough goods and services (aka wealth) to allow you to live well. Milei is going to fail if he implements only the stick...
