    American Girlfriend And Argentinian Boyfriend

Why not look into getting a student visa and continuing your education in the United States? You'd have to look into the cost of schools in the US, which can be quite expensive, but I guess you're doing that anyway. And there are some work restrictions on those visas. But that'd be another...

Parking Meters And Tow Trucks Coming Soon?

I've never had a card or driven here, so I don't know anything about this. But in any city I've lived in, this is pretty standard. Residential parking permits, and metered elsewhere. What's the big deal?

    Reflections On Crime.

That area around MALBA is a bit troublesome really. It's all just too close to the villa. It's a bit down the street obviously, but I've heard at least a few bad stories from people around the UBA law building.

Why We Might Soon See Another Argentine Default

Argentina issued debt in NY, I'm assuming largely because no one trusts Argentina local courts enough. They are now beholden to NY law. It has nothing to do with being happy or not. Law doesn't work that way.

Why We Might Soon See Another Argentine Default

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/12/01/us-argentina-debt-idUSBRE8B00E820121201 The holdouts are asking the 2nd circuit to require Argentina to post a security while on appeal, or expadite the hearing. Will be interesting to see if the court responds.

Why We Might Soon See Another Argentine Default

The supreme court typically only gets involved when the different circuits split, or if a circuit is clearly ignoring their precedent. Outside of that, it's hard to get them to take a case, even more so civil cases.

Follow-Up On Pub Crawl Attack From 1 Yr Ago

I was wondering this as well. At the time it got a lot of attention, both here and from the pub crawl guys. They identified them from pictures, and one of the dumbasses posted on twitter about it...

can Argentine subsidiary of US company pay foreign employee in USD$

This really isn't an issue that should be answered by a message board. The company hiring should take care of this, and the person being hired should be knowledgeable, because if not, it's a clusterfuck. I can't comment on your specific scenario, but I'd find it highly unlikely that you'd be...

Recoleta . Zona Liberada - Entraderas

I think you're missing the point. For the record, I've lived in a few different areas - but most recently Lakeview East and Gold Coast. I'm trying to think of the last "crime" I've heard of in Chicago that happened to someone I know. The only thing I can think of is a friend that had a...

I live in Chicago, but be sure to tell me when I have a "real world experience" and am allowed to talk.

reciprocity fee - must pay online

I believe they raised the price to pay for "promoting tourism". This is such a silly thing to complain about. This happens all over the place. Chile and Brazil will probably get VWP status soon(ish), and that'll put more pressure on Argentina than anything else. But to pretend one government...

    Transfering USD to Argentina

Well it's going to be more complicated than you want. Others know more than me, but I'll answer a couple questions. You can't simply "transfer" funds in. If you do that, the banks will just convert it at the government rate and that's what you get. But there are ways to get dollars in at a...

15% surcharge on foreign transactions on Argentine credit cards starting Sep 1

That's pretty scary. The 15% tax aside, this is quite the intrusion. When I come back to the states, I often end up declaring nothing, because it's all minor stuff and I can't be bothered to remember what I've bought. I can't remember a single time where they even questioned me. To think...
