Time Frame To Change Dni Permanent Address.

I'm not sure how it is in Buenos Aires anymore (I live in another province), but I changed my address a few months ago. It involved waiting hours (despite making an appointment) at a local Registro Civil, and they just did the process of making a new DNI (I already had one of the new DNIs, but...

Transit Time For Receiving Mail From Usa.

I've gotten a few packages from California and it's taken about a week to a week and a half to arrive to my apartment.

    Question about birth control

You can use a website like Grupo Alfa beta to see what medications are available in Argentina. You'll have to find an ingredient name in Spanish, or the brand name, to use it though. For example, if you want a birth control pill with ethinyl estradiol in it, look up etinilestradiol (though this...

    Trader Joe's Wish List?

I used to live near there back in 2008, but ended up going to the one on Olympic because I found the parking situation a little better. One thing I don't miss is driving through all the traffic. I was wondering if two buck chuck would increase while I was gone... hmm. Anyway, one thing from...

Fastest way to get to La Plata?

I did it once taking the Costera bus from Retiro, and it went fine. Well, there were some men playing really loud music from their phones, but my seat was nice!

Birth Control Pills - Names of Medication

How is the IUD working for you? I gave up on Yasmin and Yaz as well, since it was just too much for me. And in case the OP is wondering about prices (I know you don't want Yasmin/Yaz, but maybe it'll give you an idea about the general prices): Yasmin (earlier in 2010) was around 60 pesos/pack...

Birth Control Pills - Names of Medication

Here I've only used Yasmin and Yaz. I tried showing some pharmacists my old BCP, and in return they ended up giving me some menopausal pills... Eek. But still, you could try looking at the specific combination of your current pill and seeing if the pharmacy has an equivalent. Best of luck.

traveling to BA -- bring electronics to sell?

I've had no problems buying/selling on mercadolibre.com. I've brought in my own game systems (Wii, PS2, Nintendo DS) without any problems, and also purchased a few more Nintendo DSs through a website and had them arrive in mail to me here without problem (though I've heard of others having issues).

    Flight/Airline questions

I came here late last year with a return flight for September (well over 90 days, as you can tell). Once I realized I'd be staying past September, I called the airlines and canceled my return flight. A few weeks ago I rescheduled for the end of December (just under the year deadline for using...

    Tap water doesnt quench thirst

I agree with this. I put the tap water in a container and then leave it in the fridge. When it's super cold, it tastes fine to me, but when it's fresh from the tap it tastes odd for some reason. But I've also found most of the bottle water here to also taste kinda saltier than what I'm used to.

Health Care in Argentina - Help Please

What a crazy experience! And bad timing. I waited until a few months after I arrived (after having to go to the hospital a few times for medical issues), and coverage started almost immediately. A woman from OSDE came over to my apartment for a quick and easy interview to go over my medical...

    Lovely Kitten needs a home

I go there a bit! Most of the cats there are so friendly. It's really nice to see that there are a lot of people who bring food and water for them. It's probably one of my favorite places in the city. Glad you liked the comment! I spent most of my life living with one vegetarian or another (oh...

Health Care in Argentina - Help Please

I have the OSDE under 25 plan, and it's great. Now medications are much cheaper (if I have a prescription), and all my doctor's visits so far have been free. They just raised my premium, but I think it's around $300 or 325 pesos/month. Either way, if you have insurance or not, hospital visits...

    Lovely Kitten needs a home

Psh, I'm a level 5 vegan y'all. I don't eat anything that has feelings. ;) Seriously, I think almost everyone has pulled a weed or killed an insect at one point in their lives. Why, every time you take antibiotics you're killing the poor bacteria inside of you, many of which are helping your...

    Ebay...

I've never had a problem with receiving a book from the UK, chapstick from the US, and electronics/video game items from China and Singapore. The worst that happened once was having to wait in line at the post office to pick up a few hundred dollars worth of video game stuff (but most of the...
