Maintaining Language & Culture in a Multicultural Family

Add me to the list of people who wish their parents had forced them to learn their native languages AND CULTURE while growing up. If I had to choose only one language to speak it would be English, but man, I SO wish I was fluent in Spanish, French, and Vietnamese. I'm studying Spanish now and...

    brazilian visa

As of January 2011, the price was $160 (USD). And the previous poster is correct, it depends on where you are from. Some nationalities have to wait and jump through hoops while others zip right through. The price also depends on nationality. An Aussi I know had to have everything the website...

    Cheap or used computer parts?

Hi, Does anyone know a place where I can find generic computer parts? Or some place where I can bring my computer in and rent one hour's time with a power adapter? I have no way to power my laptop, and I need some files from it before i send it off under warranty (where they may wipe the hard...

    san cristobal

Avoid wandering about in any area of that barrio at night. Relatively safe to explore in the day of course, but still only carry with you what you need for where you're going.

    Diversity! Go Argentina!

Really? Even before I started traveling my impression of Australians was that they are a progressive, open, tolerant, and welcoming people. This has been confirmed from meeting many of them inside and outside of Australia. What's your impression of them?

    Expat Documentary Film

I don't think you're making the right comparison. It's a game of "which one of these is most like the other." If we stick to English (and all the other languages, even Portuguese) Asian means being from the continent of Asia, European from Europe, etc. So an Argentine is South American and a...

ATM Limits and Best Banks. LOST

Thanks Guille! Can you tell us the networks of your TD debit/ATM cards? They would be listed (their logos) on the back of the cards. Even if your own bank's limit on withdrawals is $1000 USD, you cannot get that much out on a Banelco ATM - which is most of them in this city I've noticed.

ATM Limits and Best Banks. LOST

Hi all, I've read all the posts in this thread and haven't really figured my situation out. Basically, my friends can use their debit cards up to their limits on Citibank's ATMs. But I can't use my debit/ATM cards at all. They have Canadian and American accounts and mine is an American bank...
