    Outdoor swimming pools in BsAs

The daily pass for the Belgrano pool is A$40; the hours are M-F 8:30-11:00 and 18:00-21:00; S&S 9:00-11:00 and 18:00-21:00. On certain days (seem to change all the time) lots of toddlers come around 10am for swimming lessons -- best to be avoided. I'm ususally gone by then!

    Outdoor swimming pools in BsAs

I live in Belgrano and go to Club Harrod's Gath y Chaves outdoor swimming pool. It is olympic size and located on Jose Hernandez (btw. Migueletes & Minones) -- at the edge of a park. Monthly pass costs A$200; A$30 for a locker, and it is open every day. It's pretty clean -- there are guys...

    Patagonia in April

Hi Longtimers! I am planning to fly down to Ushuaia in early April and slowly travel up north to end up in Bariloche in May. What is the weather like that time of the year? Does it rain a lot? How cold does it get? I won't be camping, but want to do a lot of hiking. Thanks for your advice.

    Iguazu hotel recommendations, please

Hola I am looking for good hotel (up to US$125) recommendations for both Argentine and Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls (for January stay). BTW, I just booked RT on Pluna Air for US$175 which was less than half the fare with LAN ($370) or Aerolineas Argentine ($407). Pluna goes via Montevideo...

New Koreatown: Markets & Restaurants (suggestions + pics)

Thanks, Casa Mun, for your initial posting -- I've been going to Floresta (Cuenca y Moron) regularly for my fix of kimchi and other Korean food (spicey, yeah!!) and for fresh and cheap produce and packaged asian food. I will now check out the places you recommend. As for safety, I've had no...

Leave Aus on Oz passport, arrive in Argentina on British passport

I can concur with irishvan. I also have 2 passports and use whichever one is convenient -- just remember to exit on the same passport you entered. Immigration only looks for entry stamp so that they can stamp the exit right next to it. Many countries allow dual citizenship so traveling with 2...

    any non-Banelco ATMs?

Sorry to post another question about ATMs -- I am trying to figure out the best ATM deal during my stay here... I've noticed that all Banelco-affiliated ATMs, no matter which bank, assess 16 peso surcharge in addition to the fees assessed by my home bank. Do all Argentine banks charge a...

    tipping protocol

Hola What's the restaurant/bar tipping protocol here? I was told 10% but I routinely see people leaving less on the table. Also, does "cubierto" go to the servers or is that for the management? As always, thanks for your answers!

looking for ATMs that give more than 700 peso

Hi All Which bank ATMs (other than Citi) give more than 700 pesos per withdrawal? I have been using Citi ATMs because I have a Citi acct in the US and I can withdraw up to 4,000 pesos at a time, but Citi in the US charges 3% currency exchange fee on the amount I withdraw. I have another...

    fraudulent ATM charges

Thanks for your advice -- we contacted both Deutsche bank in Germany and Citi branch here, and while neither could explain what happened and both claimed that it was the "fault" of the other, we got our money re-credited into our account and so "all's well that ends well"!
