Seeking in-home care for elderly mother in law

Hello expats, it's been a minute since I lived in BsAs, but I married an Argentinian so continue to have ties. My husband's mother is nearly bedridden and needs full time in-home personal care and cooking. She lives in Recoleta and is a monolingual Spanish speaker. If you're looking for such...

Urgent--traveling with pets to US--3rd party agency required?????

thanks, but there's no room on the flight. Two months before the flight, that wasn't enough time. So I made my reservation on Continental, with some nice young person in the US who has no clue whatsoever how things work in Argentina. So in case anyone else finds themselves in this delightful...

Urgent--traveling with pets to US--3rd party agency required?????

This was my impression as well, that the process is relatively simple, a pain in the neck bringing paperwork here and there but not much different from the process in the US. What's making me insane is that we're being told it isn't possible to fly animals out of Argentina as an individual; I...

Things to do with kids in winter

It would help knowing what neighborhood you are in, to see whether what I might suggest would be accessible for you. I would start by checking out the Planetario Revista website, which lists a lot of kid friendly activities. I'm not sure what there is for really little ones but it's worth a...

    Rent must be in Pesos?

Our landlord does a little better, 5:1. Our original contract was in dollars. We did our best to scrape up the dollars for most of the last year, until a couple months ago, when they agreed to let us pay in pesos at a rate not as low as the official but not as high as the blue dollar either...

    Good Yogurt?

I am really enjoying the yogurt from El Galpon, the mercado organico on Lacroze, open Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's the only yogurt I've found that doesn't have gelatin and is not hideously sweet with sugar or edulcorante (which shows up even in 'yogurt' marketed towards kids, grrrr). Anyway...
