The visa you get as a student is only valid for the duration of the course you are taking. So if you are going to a 1 month language course, it will be valid for 1 whole month..... That is what immigrations told me 5 years ago...

Don't know where you are going, but why not just getting a remis to the location you need to go...? A lot less hassle with all your suitcases and not too expensive most likely... In the train you might end up with less luggage than you stepped on the train with...

It is practically new, and the new price at amazon is in the range of US$700 and in Europe around 500 euro... So the US$500 might look high, but for a machine which has been hardly used it is actually not a bad price at all....

Is your card not restricted by the bank. I know that for my Dutch ING card I actually had to specifically switch on the usage outside Europe... If I remember correctly it was actually the Rabobank or ABM-Amro who started all this, and maybe they decided to "reset" all their cards regularly back...

I checked the KLM website for flights and they specifically state that only Argentine credit cards will be charged the 20% surcharge. So maybe book a flight with them to get to Europe is a good option if you can pay by foreign CC.. Downside is that they don't accept cash payments in Argentina...
