March in Washington DC - 2

Pericles- Are YOU an Argentine resident? I do not believe so. Do YOU leave the country every 90 days? I do not believe so. As usual according to YOU, I am ignorant. Well perhaps a history lesson (since I have a degree in such) would inform you that if it had not been for the imperialistic...

March in Washington DC - 2

My comments are addressed TO Americans. If you are not a U.S. citizen or do not pay taxes there, then your comments are irrelevant to me on how MY country is managed. I do not care how you perceive how WE should run our country for good or bad. It does not affect you whatsoever. It does not...

March in Washington DC - 2

The majority of the "protesters" have no idea what the issues are. It consisted mostly of right wing, white trash lunatics who could not give direct examples of why they were even there. I think it is sad and tragic that nearly 50% of the American population are uneducated idiots who can not...

    Running in Recoleta...suggestions, please!

Sorry about not responding sooner Katie. Here is the deal: I do not run for 10 miles a day. I have bone spurs and plantar facitis which would accelerate the pain by running long periods outside...although I do enjoy it, not 10 miles. I run everyday at the gym and mix it up with my workouts...

Update on Visa Runs and What is the cheapest way to renew?

My first visit to Colonia was September 2003. I took the "Unforgettable Day" thing. Back then it also included FULL lunch for 70 pesos. A snack? No comment. As far as the tour goes.....the old town is two blocks. You can cover it yourself without a "tour". Believe me, after four hours...

Update on Visa Runs and What is the cheapest way to renew?

Final note: I have not done the trip in awhile but their website says it is 283 r/t. I am sure they will/have raised the price to be similar to the new immigraciones increase. You can't pull one over on the locals when it comes to figuring a way to pay less...they always are ahead of you on...

Update on Visa Runs and What is the cheapest way to renew?

If you time it right, you can look at their boat schedule and literally book the trip over, go through customs, go outside and grab a quick coffee and get right back in line for the SAME boat coming back without the ordeal of four dreadful hours in the most depressing place on earth. I would...

    Running routes and help!!!!

Katie- I live in Recoleta as well. While I usually run at the gym on various machines, as the weather gets warmer I do like run outside on occasion. You can send me a private email if you like and I will tell you where to go or, if you like, accompany you. There are some great places to run...

Should Maradonna be sacked - or even walk!

Liam- Sorry. I am not really referring to the Argentine team qualifying. I personally could care less as I am not a soccer fan. I was simply referring to Maradona himself. I find him to be nothing but trash with no intelligence and loads of money simply for kicking a ball. That's just me...

Should Maradonna be sacked - or even walk!

Shouldn't Maradona be in jail for a hit and run or something not to mention his drug use? Didn't he even admit to cheating in one of his own world cup performances back in the 80's? I find it interesting that such a useless individual can be idolized when his personal behavior and attitude is...

    Incredibly High Import Fees

John St. You may make price comparisons for some things ANYWHERE and come up with numbers. You obviously did not read my second post which identified meat to be cheaper here and SOME restaurants as well. Believe whatever you want. It is your opinion and this is mine. I just came back from...

    Incredibly High Import Fees

Actually that is not correct. Cigarettes and meat are cheaper and the quality of meat is superior. For a comparable meal in New York to Sottovoce, you would pay three times the price so perhaps I am wrong about a couple of things.

    Incredibly High Import Fees

The only things cheaper here than in Europe or the U.S. are taxis and private medical care. Nada mas.

    Info on traveling to Brazil

I had two five year visas for Brazil issued in Washington, DC. No big problem. Here the SAME amount of money and A LOT more paperwork for only 90 days. It is a joke. I sent emails to the U.S. consulate here, U.S. Embassy in Brazil, Brazilian Embassy in the U.S., and Brazilian Consulate here...
