Getting back to the original thread - did anybody notice a drop-off on the blue today? Seems that today was the first day I saw an increase in the spread from the dolarblue.net to what was quoted on the streets. Not sure if the rate on the site is not being updated after what happened Friday, or...

The market is up and running as usual today. Had to stop by Florida today and heard the usual "cambio, cambio" - and switched out some more dollars with no problems.

jeff's math is almost right. You've excluded the fee for Xooming to Uruguay - $17, and the Colonia fare at the Messi dollar is $50 USD. So $1,067 for the trip to Colonia (and you lose half a day - take the 0900 there and the 1600 back on Colonia Express), vs. $1,280 for local. That's $213 USD...

Out of curiosity, what's the concern with exchanging on Florida? I've seen a few people voice concerns, and I don't understand it. Florida's been great to me - always get 20 centavos off the daily blue with no problems... The other stories I've heard of people getting into cars and exchanging...
