    The Best Cycle Routes?

I was looking for some personal recommendations of routes that people here use and enjoy, and I now have a couple as well a link to the La Vida En Bici site which I had not previously seen. It may not be 100% accurate but it has certainly given me some ideas of places I can go. My comment...

    The Best Cycle Routes?

That's one problem with crowd-sourced stuff Of course you know what the advantage of crowd-sourced stuff is? Instead of simply making a comment on how "plain wrong" it is, you can actually correct it for others. Thank you to both Sara and Lucha - both links help a lot!

    The Best Cycle Routes?

So, I've finally got round to getting a bike and would like to hear your recommendations for mostly traffic-free loops from the Recoleta area. I live near Santa Fe & Pueyrredon and would like to just head out for an hour or two with no particular destination in mind. I know I will have to do...

    Line A: Renovation!

The work is mainly to upgrade the voltage on the line so the new trains can run. Full breakdown of the work here, including a picture of the new Chinese trains that will be replacing the wooden ones, although a few will be altered to the new voltage so they can run at weekends, details here.

Yellow Fever Vaccination where best to go?

To confirm what others have said, when I got here and was heading up to Brasil I went to the Stambulian who charged me 100 pesos (this was 4 years ago, so probably 400 now), just to explain what a yellow fever jab was and why I needed it. He then said that while they could do it there I wouldn't...

    Passport Photos In Recoleta

There are 2 shops that take photos where Pueyrredon and Las Heras meet. One on Las Heras heading towards Callao and the other one on Pueyrredon heading towards Santa Fe.

    Comodoro Rivadavia

Side-trip to do what exactly? It's a port and base for the oil industry 24 hours from Buenos Aires by road. Based on my experience passing through Comodoro Rivadavia once on a bus, Colonia is the most interesting place in comparison.

Bus From Punta Arenas To Ushuaia?

I've not taken that exact route but have done Rio Gallegos to Ushuaia. It leaves Punta Arenas, heading north, crosses the Magellan Strait by ferry and once on Tierra del Fuego heads south and after about 2-3 hours of gravel road enters Argentina and rejoins Ruta 3 - passing through Rio Grande &...

    online purchases from outside Argentina

I was sent 2 light jackets from Europe in 2010. Had to pick them up from the DHL office on Corrientes and pay USD117 in customs fees for the privilege.

    Onward ticket needed for Europeans?

Seriously, if it means buying a ticket she won't use, she should mock up an email from a airline showing her ticket details. They don't check, theyjust need to see the ticket. I prepared one just in case when I flew to EZE from Bogota, she asked for an onward ticket, I showed her the mail on my...

    Onward ticket needed for Europeans?

I've flown to Argentina three times on a one-way ticket and on 2 occasions have only been allowed to check-in by giving proof of an onward ticket. Without that proof the check-in lady made it very clear that she would not check me in. Simple as that. I have a UK passport if that makes any...

Tips please for Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, etc.???

Also, bear in mind that the penguins are at Punta Tombo which is 200k or so south of Puerto Madryn. I've been twice, both times driving from Madryn or Gaiman. Both penguins and whales need about a total of 5 days - Gaiman is a much nicer place to stay than Madryn - the heart of the Welsh colony.

Tips please for Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, etc.???

Puerto Piramides is where the boats leave from - it's about 80 km from Puerto Madryn. I would stay rent a car and aim to stay in Piramides 2 or 3 nights. It's very small with not much to do but if you have a car there are sealion colonies nearby, or you could head to Caleta Valdes and see the...

    91 days!

I went through 4 days over at EZE and nothing was said. This was in 2009 however. Safer to have the money (300 pesos) just in case. As noted above, cheaper than buying a new ticket.
