    Washing Machine Service

:D I couldn't agree with you more! Thanks for the DIY idea, I'm wary of trying it myself since it's my landlady's washine machine, but will ask the portero to try it out!

Do they service non-Whirlpool machines too? Ours is some Argentine made brand called Coventry.

    Washing Machine Service

The door of our front-loading washing machine is stuck and our wet clothes are trapped inside. Can anyone recommend a good washing machine repair place, preferably in Zona Norte? We have some good clothes stuck in there and afraid we'll get mold on them very soon :( Thanks.

    football tickets.

Thanks for the information! What do you guys think of the ordinary standing places instead of Alta San Martin? It works out to a little more than we are prepared to pay.

    football tickets.

I'm looking to go for the River Velez match at Monumental this Sunday. Does anyone know if I can buy tickets directly at the stadium today or tomorrow? Is the ticket counter open on weekends?

    Your Favorite Restaurants?

For Indian food, Tandoor, Taj Mahal, Mumbai, Katmandu. The first two are better than the last. Taj Mahal's idea of picante food is not half bad. I forget their addresses but all have websites.

    Name registry got stricter....

I don't think name control can work once there are a lot of immigrants in a country. Obviously the allowable name register offers me very few options for Indian/Hindu names. I don't think it's fair to say that the register eliminates weird or offbeat names, as a name that's weird here can be...

    Dni

Yes, we do have our DNIs in hand with vencimiento in Sept 2011. We refused to pay and my husband's employer spoke to the agency to get them for us. Thanks for the tip about taking photocopies and having them notarised!

    Dni

Update - We got our DNIs. What does this mean as far as our residency is concerned? My husband's employer claims that we now don't have to do anything further for our residency and that we can stay here legally (indefinitely?) with our expiring Residencia Precarias and our DNIs. But shouldn't we...

Thanks for the information Mini. I'll do that to find out if my DNI has been processed or not. My fingerprints were only taken once but I have no clue whether that was for a police report. I had given those celeste background photos of myself as well. Again I don't know what that was for :)

Thank you for all the information everybody. It's a little overwhelming but I am grateful to learn more about the process. Steve, my Residencia Precaria was stamped with a new date and I have it with me, so I'm not just taking the agency's word for it. My fingerprints were taken on the day I...

Steve, yes the "agency" (I appreciate the quotes!) says they have the DNIs already. We do have our Residencia Precaria papers though, is that the certificate of residency that you mean? I guess if we decide we do need/want them then re-apply for the replacement DNIs ourselves? But I was curious...

Thanks for the information everyone. The company where my husband works uses an agency to assist with all the migraciones work. They were the ones who helped us get the Residencia Precaria when we arrived in Buenos Aires and applied for the DNIs for us, but are asking for 1000 pesos as payment...
