Changing Argentina’s Inertia: Is it Possible?

Always said the problem with Argentina is its Spanish and Italian background plus it's location in the world map doesn't help. There's no EU here to take them by the hand and guide them into the 21st century.

Part time living here is a cakewalk....especially when drinking Malbec regularly!!

Kids are easier to please than us adults so I'm sure it'll be an adventure for them. Must admit I found it to be an adventure as well for many years. My problem is I haven't been able to get away for several years and I'm getting a bit fed up with it. Then this flippin' virus came along.

    Argentina stuck in the 1960's?

The wife is always saying I should eat more. I must admit I do like a beer during the hot weather and wine with my meal...rarely drink sugary fizzy drinks though. I'm fortunate that I've stayed the same weight, give or take a few lbs, for the last 40 odd years. Genes maybe?

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

I suppose much depends on your personal circumstances. When there's more than just you involved it's a much harder decision to make.

Cost of a ticket for international flights goes up due to a tariff increase...

Strange decision the way things are but not surprising. They obviously know those who can't afford to pay it are ulikely to fly anyway.

Would you like to spend the rest of your life in Argentina?

We don't have much choice really....it would be far too much hassle and counter productive to our health to ''sell up'' everything and leave permanently. To be honest I'm not so sure I'd want to anyway. Plus with my wife being Argentine and despite her daily cursing of the way things are run...

    Traveling to BA

I personally think Madrid is ahead of Buenos Aires in most things. However Madrid comes a poor second in the bragging rights department of places visited.

    Why no canned meat?

Used to love it sliced along with steamed spring cabbage and boiled potatoes. A touch of Colemans mustard.

    Traveling to BA

I just think it would be wiser to postpone travelling, never mind staying and working, in this part of the world for a while yet. Until we know if the pandemic situation is going to get better or worse.

    Traveling to BA

The Argentine Embassy of the country you're in would or should be your first port of call.I personally think you'd have to be 'loco' to come here the now unless you have family here.

    Why no canned meat?

I also remember the tinned corned beef on the shelf of La Anonima and telling the missus it was regularly used as the filling in sandwiches for many Glasow workers packed lunch....never forget the horrified look on her face!!
