The deal with Argentine men and their "girl" friends

Morality? I was talking about your taxes comment, nada más. And FYI - I don't evade taxes. One, I pay taxes each time I buy purchase something from the grocery store. Two, I work here LEGALLY and DO have taxes taken out of my paycheck every single month. Three, I pay taxes on the property I own...

pointers about the Colonia visa run

Agreed. I prefer Colonia Express over Buquebus, and they usually have cheaper prices. I have yet to try Seacat - has anyone here traveled to Colonia through them before?

    Best Bus to Cordoba

El Turista and El Práctico normally have good service and comfortable seating. Urquiza and Chevallier are pretty inconsistant, although their cama ejecutiva service is usually good.

    Meeting Argies

Look, I was just relaying what my husband's opinion is on the matter. And he happens to be Argentine - born and raised.

    Day Trip.

Wow, you and I must have gone to two different La Platas then. The main plaza is nice but I wasn't all that impressed by the rest of the city. Although, it has been about 2 years since I've gone. Has it really changed that much in such a short amount of time?

The deal with Argentine men and their "girl" friends

No, I am not a fan of the Pope and am not against premarital sex. I just believe in crossing your legs until you are of a certain age. And the whole original topic was about teenage girls with men old enough to be their fathers, not about teenage dating in general.

The deal with Argentine men and their "girl" friends

I was saying morals, in addition to STD and pregnancy concerns.

It isn't drinking prohibition, you simply cannot have an open container of alcohol on the street. Makes sense to me in terms of being able to enforce underage drinking laws. Not really sure how you can relate that issue to morality and promiscuity of minors.

    Meeting Argies

I just asked my Argentine husband about it and right off the bat, he agreed that the term ''Argie'' is offensive. I guess he's particularly sensitive to it since he's in the military here. Until today, I had no idea that it was considered a derogatory term. Good to know!

    Dni

Unless things are different in Capital, I don't believe so. I live in GBA so mine was delivered to my house. The only time my fingerprints were taken was when I initially applied for the DNI at the local Registro Civil.

The deal with Argentine men and their "girl" friends

Alright, I think I've got it. So as long as she gets good grades, who cares about morals, STDs and teenage pregnancy (and with a guy 20 years her senior as the father)?

    Mexican Groceries

I just picked up tortilla chips and salsa the other day at the Coto on Cabildo, near Lacroze. In the produce and bakery area, they've got local and American tortilla chips, as well as flour tortillas (Bimbo). All the salsas and taco sauces are in one of the aisles near the main entrance. They...

17 year old girls should be more concerned about their studies than about bagging experienced lovers.

FBI checks need not be apostilled. That was the case last year, at least.

    Apostille State Issued Birth Certificate

Over the years, I've always gotten my birth certificate apostilles through the State of Wisconsin. I've never contacted the Department of State.

    Dni

Yeah, whoever told you you need to pay $1000 for a DNI is full of it. If you plan to stay here for a few years, I do recommend getting a DNI. It makes life easier. You can easily open a bank account, you can sign up for credit cards, you can apply for services in your name (cell phone plans...
