Corrientes Y Callao, What's Good? (Bars, Restaurants, Etc.)

Bodegon de la Calle Ayacucho is between Corrientes and Lavalle. It is smaller and even cheaper and simpler than Cervantes II, but it is often packed with neighbors and people who work nearby. The food flies out of there for delivery as well, so it is generally pretty fresh, i.e., nothing left...

    Confiteria Ideal??

Jubilados and retirees are the same people. In fact, more of the older ones go out at 5p.m. than at midnight. My jubilado milonguero esposo is on his way there right now.

    Good Watch Repair Person?

When I came back from a trip the other day, something in my watch got hung up when I changed the hour. I am looking for someone who can fix the mechanism without ruining it beyond repair. Does anyone know a good watch repair person? I am in el centro but location isn't all that important. I...

They Let Me In! - Trip Back Report

Ditto for us. When we came back in last week, the customs people basically ignored us. We weren't carrying anything interesting and my husband is Argentine, so we entered in full Spanish. But we hardly had a chance to say "buen dia" before they turned away and went back to chatting with each...

Residencia Help! 3 Yrs Here & Cant Find Way To Be Permanent

I found Gabriel Celano recommended as an immigration attorney in these forums. I only consulted him once because that was all that I needed, but I found him responsive and I thought his advice was very helpful. http://www.celano.com.ar/Home.html

Benefits Of Argentine Citizenship Vs. Permanent Residency

La Coqueta's lawyer may be better than the one I consulted. But the one I asked last January told me that to maintain my residency for my DNI to remain valid, I need to be in Argentina 1 day every 2 years. The rules for tax residency are different.

No Hiding And No Running With Delta

I don’t know why I am obsessing over this. I just couldn’t believe that a ticket from Buenos Aires to Madrid and then from Rome to Washington, DC and back to Buenos Aires could cost only $1700, if it included a 35% cut for the Argentine govt. So I looked around some more. It appears that the...

No Hiding And No Running With Delta

I agree. Cancel it within the 24 hours while you can and start over again. Perhaps even call Delta in the U.S. to reserve. This week I called United in the U.S, and booked a flight from EZE to Madrid, via Frankfurt on Lufthansa. A second leg is from Rome to Washington, DC. on United And the...

    Where Is My Bill?

It might be too late to pay the full year all at once. The coupon for that is # 13, but it might have expired in February.

    Where Is My Bill?

Bradly is right, I didn't get mine either, even thought may of the other people in my building did. But you still owe it. If you have your account number, you can get it online, print it out and pay it.

Is It Possible To Find Love In Argentina?

I met the love of my life in a milonga. We are both older. He was retired and I was approaching that age. He is Argentinean and a wonderful person, but I think a critical factor is that we were both very content with our lives before we met. All those years I spent looking and hoping for a good...

    Dill, Where To Find Some

I haven't bought it lately but have usually found it in the Chinese grocery in the 2100 block of Arribeños in Chinatown and in a verduleria in the Recoleta arcade in the 1500 block of Rodriguez Peña. In the verduleria you have to ask for it. It is called eneldo.

    Andrew Mccance - Apartment Rentals

I rented an apartment from Buenos Aires Stay, his company in 2008. I didn't much like the apartment, but I blamed my poor choice via the internet rather than the company. In fact, I don't remember much about my dealings with them, which suggests that they were uneventful. If there had been a...
