    Price of meat will skyrocket

Here's just one example of food prices in Miami-Ft Lauderdale area from Winn-Dixie supermarkets (BOGO means buy 1 get 1 free). The Publix ad pic I took cane out poorly and is hard to read so I'll take another shot. This pic seems cloudy, too.

Best country to move to when life in Argentina becomes intolerable

500 pesos is 50 cents (in US dollars). While you and I may be fortunate enough not to worry about chump change like that, at a casino that's a lot of money for each roll of a slot machine (even in Las Vegas). Every other post bemoans the affordability of things here. When a bus fare/train trip...

Best country to move to when life in Argentina becomes intolerable

As much as we complain just got back from Hipodrome in Palermo (casino and race track). It was PACKED. And many of those there were betting 125, 250 and 500 pesos each bet.

Is the expat party coming to an end?

My Nampe inflation index is still the same as months ago: $1350 or about $1,35 a bottle. Try looking for either an online Publix or Winn-Dixie ad in the Miami area. As I mentioned in another post on this site, with rare exception food prices there will curl your hair.

Argentines protest Milei's economic shock therapy

Massive printing by central banks result in high inflation. I, too, recall prices from 2011 (my first time here) vs today but bear in mind prices here are significantly lower in most categories than say, in the US. Also, most expats are probably making more now than a decade ago. No easy answer...

Argentina Pesos on ferry to Uruguay

I recall the "duty free" prices were very expensive but then again, the ships have a "captive" audience.

Argentina Pesos on ferry to Uruguay

T You can buy stuff in pesos or dollars on board and use their cambio facilities to buy/sell what you don't spend. The exchange rate, as I recall, wasn't good.
