    Excited/scared About Moving To Ba...!

Sarita, I am sorry to tell you that Fraga and Dorrego is Chacarita, no Palermo. We live two blocks from there and we often walk to the restaurants in Palermo Hollywood but definitely is not Palermo. There is a tendency from railtors to call Palermo everything because that is where most people...

    Kfc And Wendy's Opened Today

It is so sad to see that all world cities are starting to look alike. You have the same food chains and high street stores all over the world. When the first Starbucks opened in Paris, a lot of people thought it will not work. A few years later, there were around 40 Starbucks in Paris. Too bad...

Why Does Everyone Here Seem To Hate Buenos Aires So Much?

So your macho attitude does not go well with the locals... what's the problem there? Try a waitress in Paris and see how it goes...

Why Does Everyone Here Seem To Hate Buenos Aires So Much?

You do not need to play her down calling her a 15 years old. She is Argentine and she is learning English as she mentioned. So, yes her vocabulary is limited. If you knew a little bit more about Argentine culture, you would know that the word "odiar" (=hate) has different connotations and have...

Why Does Everyone Here Seem To Hate Buenos Aires So Much?

Hi Luciana, Do not take things in this board personally. This is my second time living in Buenos Aires (with a ten years break in between) and I always have the love and hate relation with the place. I have shared both positive and negative experiences in this forum. I was an active member here...

    Convert Euros To Dollars?

Lucky you. In the "old" times when the dollar was 6.3, I got 7.5 for my euros, an implicit rate of 1.20 dollars per Euro when at that time the relationship was more 1.30.

    Convert Euros To Dollars?

I second others here. We stopped bringing euros because the rate was not as good as the one we could get for dollars. Change your euros for dollars abroad. Just do not do it at the airport where the spreads and commissions are a killer.

    What Would You Go See?

Thanks everyone for the contribution. Keep them coming. I have family coming to visit us from France and now I have a long list of places to visit with them. Things we have done and liked: Isla Martin Garcia: nice for a day trip. You enjoy the river and the big iguanas but you get eaten alive...

Would you move a family to Argentina...?

We moved a year ago. We have two kids, 2 and 4. We are on a foreigner salary so the governing screwing the economy works somehow in our favor. We found living here at least challenging even though I was brought up here as an expat kid so I knew a little what was all this about. You can have a...

6 months since "trade mission" to Angola...what benefit?

OK, I will pay you the beer (but it would be hard to find a good Ale in BA). It was not my intention to offend you just bad humor from my part. Coming back to topic, I have not heard anything from Angola but I have interviewed for my book one local company and they shared with me the experience...

6 months since "trade mission" to Angola...what benefit?

Relax. I forgot the ;)))) I was kidding cause you have corrected my grammar many times (for what I was thankful) and you forgot a couple of verbs and other things in your post. No need to get aggressive the way you did. Peace.
