Does anyone else feel there might be a peso collapse this year?

Aha, that makes more sense as to why there seems to be so much hesitancy around lifting the controls even with IMF cash. Was seeing a couple articles about how the current deal in talks wouldn't really cover much past standing deficit. I can see the worry that a dirty float would only last half...

Does anyone else feel there might be a peso collapse this year?

Just as a point of monitoring the news on this; seems like the papers are still tracking the current IMF deal to include lifting the cepo. https://www.batimes.com.ar/news/economy/argentina-and-the-imf-scenarios-for-a-possible-new-agreement.phtml That said, if anyone can explain the whole...

Does anyone else feel there might be a peso collapse this year?

That makes more sense, explains why the news has been sounding so tense with the IMF pressure and the sort.

Does anyone else feel there might be a peso collapse this year?

Definitely agree on the falling consumption. Seeing a lot less eating out among friends and family. Even seen my in-laws, once extremely nationalistic asado touting cuisine become less and less meat based, now leaning on homemade pizzas. Plus hand rolling cigarettes over store bought.

Does anyone else feel there might be a peso collapse this year?

Hey all, I don't usually get in on the political and economic speculation, but I keep up with the herald articles and it feels like they've been painting a picture. Especially with all the news about how the central bank keeps spending more on artificially keeping exchange rates down, and now...

Searching for Cheese Supplies (to make "American Cheese")

Hey, not a bad idea, thanks for the recommendation. I haven't really loved the danbo cheese I've tried so far, but it's mostly been generic brand. I'll keep an eye out for this one to try.

Searching for Cheese Supplies (to make "American Cheese")

Good afternoon everybody, Real shot in the dark on this one but, I've had enough and miss my junk processed cheese. I refute and detest cheddar cheeseburger superiority. Would anyone have an idea where to buy this sodium citrate stuff? The rest of the process seems pretty doable, but I'm not...

Is there a way to get government entry/exit records?

Hello all, Does anyone know if there is a way to request a history/record of entry and exit to the county? I'm filling in some paperwork and haven't been too diligent with my record-keeping (besides, an official source would be better anyhow). I know there's a website for getting most recent...

Ah darn, sorry, didn't actually try to pull any for myself this trip. I just meant in terms of migrations practicality. Maybe someone else will have some more ATM input.

Colonia runs as of May 2024

Hello all, I've just got back from a short weekend trip to Colonia and thought I'd share the experience since there's been some back and forth about the practicality of using the runs to reset 90 day visas lately. Background, my girlfriend (Argentine) and I wanted to see Colonia for the first...

Where to go for package being held by customs

Thanks for the feedback. Let corporate know, their turn to work out all the broker stuffs. Knew it was a bad idea but, company policy, they wanted to mail from the head office instead of sourcing locally. Dang pain.

Where to go for package being held by customs

Hello, I have a package being sent from the US to CABA, but am being told it is held up at customs. It was shipped with FedEx, but now they're saying I need a "customs broker". To my understanding, the issue is I probably need to go pay an import tax/legal bribe. It's a work expense, so I'm...
