Subte linea D / Monthly expenses

I dont think there is a barrio norte. From what i understand barrio norte refers to the northern barrios eg: recoleta, palermo are all part of barrio norte. If i am wrong where is it and what streets bound it ?

    Shock at the Supermarket

Even time i am away from agentina for a few months and return i get supermarket price shock. All the price increases dont seem so bad when you are here and going to the supermarket on a daily/weekly bases as they move up slowly. Shop around as there can be big variations in prices between the...

Subte linea D / Monthly expenses

My current one was from craigslist, but you have to negotiate, and when they quote you a monthly price, ask how much for 3 months. I have never paid the asking price. It is the quiet time of the year, so its easier to get the price down, and if you can pay in US$ that will also help you get the...

Subte linea D / Monthly expenses

US$1,000 a month including rent can get you by without going out and partying. If you look around you can get pretty good deals on apartments. I have just moved into a studio (35sqm) in plaza güemes on a 3 months contract - its US$500 per month including internet/cable tv/power/gas/local phone...

    How are things in Argentina?

I have noticed that some things have disappeared from supermarket shelves, or will be gone for a couple of weeks then come back again - usually more expensive. Plan old nescafe coffee went from my local disco for a couple of weeks, also the cheap milk i buy at coto i hardly ever see anymore -...

Interesting rip off by a forum user - mercadolibre

Interesting rip off by a forum user - mercadolibre

There is a difference between advertising and trying to sell something that you dont own or dont have an agreement to sell on the behalf of someone else, to going and asking someone if they are interested in selling something because you have someone who might be interested in buying it. The...

Interesting rip off by a forum user - mercadolibre

I think at the very least this is scummy behavior as this guy is selling something he doesnt own, is selling someone elses property that he doesnt have the right to sell, and hasnt ask the seller if he can sell it on his behalf. If a realestate agent put your house on the market, without you...

    Pesos in the US=No Good

Scared of what ? I was in zimbabwe when they had really bad inflation (from what i remember it got up to 1m%) and the zim $ was worthless, and they had controls on buying foreign currencies etc. Being a foreigner with US$ it wasnt a problem. I would only exchange what i needed for a day or 2...

what's the difference with all the milk?

Its because its cheaper to store/ship as you dont need to keep it cold. But there are still countries where most of the milk is fresh - NZ and AU being 2. There is hardly any UHT milk sold there.

what's the difference with all the milk?

There use to be a brand at coto called Moblo (or something similar) which was just pasturised and dia also had one too. They were the cheapest brand. They were also the creamiest and tasted more like the fresh milk we get back home. But they would also go off the quickest. I just checked the...

what's the difference with all the milk?

They add vitamins to the milk here, so you get basic milk, skim, skim with A and D, full cream with A & D and then there is pasturised and ultra pasturised... and on top of that the different brands. They also have drinking yoghurt and flavoured milk in the 1 lt plastic bags too, so maybe what...

    Looking for some advice...

If you are buying to rent, and using the rental income to cover a mortgage or need a return, i would not do it. The tourist market is slowing, i meet alot of people (europeans) when i was in colombia and ecuador over the xmas period who had planned on staying in argentina for a month or more...

Best South American capitals/cities to live/work

I have travelled to most large south american cities, and the one i was most impressed with was medellin in colombia. It is clean, people are very friendly, and the metro system is the best by far in south america. The quality of food (especially fruit/veges) and selection of products in the...

A simple traffic accident can be dangerous

It makes me feel sick to read what happened to you - and that no one offered to help or make sure you were ok. I hope you are ok, and that there is no lasting damage to your eye. If it was me i would press charges, the kid too. I would also get hold of all video evidence before it gets wiped or...
