    Expat Position Regarding Politics

Saying what I do, which is that if you're a guest in someone's house it's myopic and in bad taste to criticize how they do things is not totalitarianism and doesn't mean I support this govt. (in fact the few who know me know that I don't....that's not the point). The distinction also has nothing...

    Expat Position Regarding Politics

In my view an expat, as a guest, should keep out of politics. This means taking no stand for or against the govt., for or against any cause in the country in which you're a guest. Let the locals decide their own fate. I'm here in part because I want to forget about politics in this sense. I...

Any Definite Answer On Grass Fed Beef

I've checked the threads in the past on this forum, and I don't see any definite answers on a butchery that sells grass-fed beef. I'm not talking about restaurants that claim to do so, or about chicken or eggs, but butcheries where I can buy my own beef (and pork, lamb, etc., as well, but mainly...

    Oh No.. Not The Wine!

I don't mind the taste of Chandon, it's nothing special but it's OK; the problem is that I believe it is made with some chemical process and it can give you a headache at times. I tried Rossell Boher and I thought it was OK but nothing great. For 325 pesos it's not worth it. I buy instead the...

    Found! Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Are they delivering it to you in Buenos Aires? If you're bringing some over, bring some for me too and I'll present you with good bottle of wine for your trouble, etc.

    Oh No.. Not The Wine!

I tried a bottle of Animal wine recently I thought it was awful. Who recommended that garbage?

    Oh No.. Not The Wine!

"Vomiting hate against the GOVERNMENT" oh no...spoken like a true chavista martinet. Daily reminder that ""Dr."" bajo cero compared my wanting to buy vitamins to wanting to buy cocaine, http://baexpats.org/topic/32448-need-a-good-potent-multivitamin/page__st__20#entry290728

    Has Anyone Tried Nuestro Secreto?

I'm tired of trying nice restaurants in Buenos Aires and being disappointed. Is Nuestro Secreto at the Four Seasons really good? http://www.fourseasons.com/buenosaires/dining/restaurants/nuestro_secreto/ By really good I mean, does the food, the meat, really set it apart from any other good...

Easy/possible To Get Dex Or Provigil Prescription?

Yes, it's basically speed. It is a most useful supplement for anyone at all to use for all manner of things. It improves performance, sometimes dramatically, especially at small doses. You can get it with prescription in the US, but it is illegal in Japan e.g. even with prescription.

    Waitstaff In Bsas

I told this waiter at Covadonga "Can I order already." He said yes, looked into the distance, and walked away lol...never seen anything like this. I have to admire the brazenness...I did tell the owner/manager how hard it is to get the attention of his employees. But he also has a remote and...

Easy/possible To Get Dex Or Provigil Prescription?

Thanks. I realize I used an abbreviation...I meant to say dexedrine/dextroamphetamine. I will try it both ways I guess. In some countries it's not possible to get this even with prescription.

    Waitstaff In Bsas

It depends, some are very nice to me. But the other day I went to Covadonga at the intersection of Riobamba and Arenales. The waiters there have the most ridiculous attitude I've seen in some time...and the owners or managers as well, a very weird vibe. Curious to know if anyone's tried it or...

Easy/possible To Get Dex Or Provigil Prescription?

Wondering if a doctor here can prescribe this. In some countries it's easier than in others; in some countries impossible. Provigil would also work as alternative, not sure if that is prescribed here.

Puppies Are Not Just For Christmas But...

I hope the pups found an owner. I would like to take in a street dog sometimes but then I can't in my apt. and I don't know when I may have to leave all of a sudden. I give them food on the street if I see them, dogs like ham :)

No One From White House Goes To Paris? Non Charlie?

In France someone who made a cartoon of the govt. official Taubira as a monkey went to jail for 9 months for "racism." There is no "freedom of speech" to protect in France. Charlie Hebdo was a magazine that regularly called for the criminalization of opinions its staff didn't agree with. They...

    In Memoriam, Charlie Hebdo

Just a reminder that France doesn't have freedom of press or freedom of speech and people go to jail for saying certain things in France. Oh and also the march was a complete fake job.
