    Chilli cookoff...recipies?

A recipe for chilli? Not too difficult. Onions, garlic, minced beef, cubes of marbled beef, tomato purée, tomato juice, tomatoes, oregano, basil, cumin, turmeric, smoked paprika, chilli powder (Good luck finding spicy stuff!), balance all of the above to taste the way you want, thicken and then...

    Officially Done with BA

I wouldn't say 'stealing' is taught here Mitch, there is certainly an underpinning opportunistic subtext to the culture and not being vigilante is seen as a weakness which Darwinism will either have you adapt to or disappear from. Similar characteristics can be drawn from many other nations...

    Dill pickles??? Help!

Wash the jumbo pickles and then soak them overnight in white vinegar in the fridge. I usually stock up and let seem steep in the vinegar for weeks or months to completely eradicate any sweetness they have but if you chucking them into a potato salad tomorrow, I'm sure the sauces you use within...

Any comments on the thumbprint scan and photo taken at arrival?

Pretty standard in the US and so I don't see why that practise wouldn't travel further down. It's annoying as a tourist but I'm sure those seeking citizenship can help their claims by being the people at the airport, with their passport, and by being the people in the offices of immigration...

Any newcomer , former expat from Thailand?

I'll happily share information about life in Thailand with you on these boards here cricri58. Thailand attracts a lot of differing characters but is generally warm, polite and welcoming to those who show respect and are well mannered. I'd recommend using Thai-Visa.com for getting information...

    Website creation

Hi David, You can easily get a working model up and running using WordPress. I'd recommend keeping all the 'keys to the castle' regarding trusting another to control it. WordPress is a simple enough free content management system which, if used properly, fulfils many roles and shouldn't have...

Goodies from the UK in July

I don't go into BA proper often...but salt and vinegar or pickled onion crisps and like Scott above - Irn-bru and haggis would be nice (Or Chip shop curry sauce - they don't have it in Barrio Chino!!)

Anyone coming over/back from the UK in the next month or so?

I thought he was talking about the new name for Marathon bars - I'm jonesing for some pickled onion crisps (Heck even salt and vinegar would do!).

    Shipping Concerns

Some jackets, a few suits and shoes from my shipping. My wife has yet to weigh in on the matter so we're not completely clear on how much is missing. It's not the end of the world or anything - just really annoying.

    Shipping Concerns

Well my shipping has arrived. The concerns about technology being stolen are very valid. The box which contained my computer, monitors, printer, external hard drive with fancy keyboard and mouse did arrive. Whoever decided that they should have it over me replaced said components with paper...

Santander brought down to 'A3' level

This isn't a harem-scarem topic just a notice on what is going on. Here is the article in question I just find it odd as Santander own Abbey National and Natwest (Two of the UK's biggest banks) and so calling it a 'Spanish' or 'Latino' problem seems weird to me - I'd guess that the Latino...

Typical Buenos Aires BS - Grocery Delivery

I'm an old fashioned 'arms' kinda guy. Might switch to delivery for liquids shortly though, but that's just me being lazy.
