A bonus when lawyer does a good job ?

My guess is the property manager will keep all or a portion of the $500. Under no circumstances would I provide extra compensation to the lawyer. And in my eyes, the property manager is complicit for even making that request. On it's face, the request is ridiculous.

    Good Property Manager ?

I met Max when he was property manager for an apartment I rented several years ago. He speaks perfect English and operates like an American property manager. Whenever there was a problem, he was on it immediately - usually resolved that same day. He was honest and fair in all our dealings.

Cheap EZE to MIA flights with Aerolineas?

I had a flight reservation with AR a few months ago. I purchased the refundable fare. AR changed the flight time by about two hours; the arrival time no longer fit my schedule, so I cancelled. AR informed me that my $28.500 pesos would be available in 120 days. It's been about 140 days and still...

Reliable transportation from the city to EZE?

Call my trusted driver Ignacio. 11.3918.3067 Negotiate the price ahead of time. He'll charge the Uber rate less about 10% or so. He arrives 5 minutes early, helps with bags, and does whatever else necessary to complete the trip. He's great.

Taxi fare from Ezeiza to Centro

Call Ignacio at 11.3918.3067. He'll do it for the price of an Uber - currently about $2.500 pesos, with driver paying tolls. Currently from the airport, the resident taxis are charging $3.500 - $4.000 pesos. They don't bargain much because they most likely return to the airport empty.

Rentista visa on the income from a mortgaged property.

In my experience, the rentista residencia was not that difficult. To do it without a lawyer, good spanish is a must. There are several people on this forum who have residencia rentista and they are more than happy to guide a first timer.

Was granted permanent residency but still haven't received a DNI card. What happens if I leave the country?

You will need some form of documentation to leave Argentina and return to Argentina. You can email Migraciones and tell them you have no documentation proving your residency. They will email you a form letter with your name on it, which clearly states, in spanish, that you have been granted...

    Rentista Visa

Is this the process you actually go through? DNM checks your bank records to prove you have deposited the $30.000 pesos monthly? Sounds expensive at 80 pesos to the dollar. When I got my residencia rentista. The first year, I had to show proof of the income. The second year, I had to show proof...

    September Flights

Provided "regular" flights means normal passenger air travel without the need for citizenship or residency to enter Argentina, it appears the door has opened. Perhaps we rename this threat to "October Fights."

    September Flights

La Nacion reports that American Airlines will resume daily flights to USA on October 7. The article mentions "special flights." Anyone know if non-residents will be able to enter Argentina on these flights? Seems strange to start daily service to/from the USA if only residents/citizens can...

    Expat Medium-Term Strategy

Have you considered a student visa? In terms of bureaucracy, it's the easiest. I have known a few people who have done it. The universities want the foreign tuition, so they make the paperwork and approval easy. They hold your hand through the process to completion. I'm not sure how it will...

Chinese president blames Coronavirus on the US.

I found this video interesting. Apparently, thousands of urns containing ashes of deceased have mysteriously appeared at funeral homes in Wuhan. Funny, the number of urns is several times larger than the number of chinavirus deaths reported by the CCP. And several times larger than the number of...

    Opening a bank account

I'm not sure you can achieve the objective you seek. Try Banco Provincia. Bring your tax return and passport. Be prepared for a long process of sitting in a chair and watching a bank employee shuffle papers, make copies, staple papers, talk with other employees, ask you useless questions...

5 Americans rejected at the border yesterday

Sometimes, being here without legal residency is honest. It took me a year to "comply" with the requirements for my residencia. I put "comply" in quotations because Migrations changed the requirements twice during my first year attempting. Plus, they didn't understand the source of my income. I...

    Overstaying 90-day limit

No, I had not overstayed the tourist visa. I am always trying to comply with argentine law. I have had difficulty obtaining the residency designation in the past, but I have never overstayed. I can control that. I can't directly control the residency process.

Banco Nacion At Ezeiza - No Longer Buying Pesos

A friend was in town. She had about 5 thousand pesos left over. It wasn't convenient for me to meet up with her and buy them back, so I told her to change them at the airport at Banco Nacion, like people have done for years. She just sent me a message. The Banco Nacion at the airport is not...
