Indeed, here we go again. Close the restaurants. Pull the kids out of school. Restrict movements. Meanwhile... Dr. Angelique Coetzee, a practicing doctor for 30 years who chairs the South African Medical Association (SAMA), and who first encountered the new strain said 'Their (patients)...

Good lessons. Don't carry anything of value. Resist the urge to not comply.

    Strategies for US inflation

The US has been the best and safest place to invest. But not every moment has been equally good for owning US property or stocks. In 2006, I was living in Florida, the average home price in Miami was $340K, and by 2011, it had dropped to $170K. Prices eventually recovered but owners had to...

    Strategies for US inflation

Bricks in the US are at an all time high. Real estate has been in a strong bubble for awhile. Same for stocks. While I haven't studied the subject my impression is that hard assets here somehow seem to keep up with inflation. The political situation and repatriation are concerns.

    Road Trip to Bariloche

We were there a few years ago. If you can still tolerate more driving, we greatly enjoyed the Road of the Seven Lakes, from Barlioche through Villa L'Angostura to San Martin where we stayed for a few days. The views were breathtaking. In San Martin we drove around the lake to the land of the...

How to pay for property in Argentina?

Have you considered that at some point you might sell the house and move abroad? Taking the money out of Argentina will be difficult. Leaving the proceeds of the sale in pesos, even temporarily, would likely cost you 4% per month.

Keeping US cell phone number for text & talk when moving there

A couple of other thoughts. A dual sim phone like my Pixel 3A allows me to switch better Google Fi and a local service so I wouldn't need a local phone. My bill for Google Fi is about $30/month.

Is it better to apply for visa from inside or outside the country?

If you have foreign income and/or assets, Argentina cannot bother you about it if you never report your foreign country identity number (ie Social Security) number to anyone here.

Keeping US cell phone number for text & talk when moving there

Last time I reasearched it, 3 years ago, I chose Google Fi. To optimize it I bought a Google Pixel 3A phone for $350, at that time. I've been entirely pleased with Google Fi and the Pixel 3A especially the camera. I get sms codes wherever I am. Wherever I travel I instantly get a good phone...
