    Museo de Las Malvinas?

Since the article didn't specify whether it is dollars or pesos, I will assume that it is dollars, since it was an AP article written in English.

    Museo de Las Malvinas?

Just came across this: http://news.yahoo.com/argentina-open-museum-dedicated-falklands-003614892.html Bet that they sure could have used some of the revenue from the cruise ships they turned away to pay for this 20 million dollar museum. And seriously, wouldn't this money be better off paying...

    Mixing Teenagers from Different Countries?

Now that I think of it, I have not really read any posts about teenage expats in the city. There are a lot of people who seem to come with younger kids, but none (or not many) come with teenagers. I have seen the occasional post where someone is thinking about it, but then they are no longer...

    Taking medicine to the States?

Thanks for all the posts. I feel much better about taking them now.

    Taking medicine to the States?

I do see where you are headed. To my knowledge, it can be purchased over the counter now in the States, but I am not positive on that. I will have to look into it.

One thing still cheaper than US

The public hospitals are alright here. They are not great, but they are not awful either. I've been in public hospitals numerous times, and none of them are exceptionally clean, but they aren't exactly dirty either. The private health care here is excellent in my opinion. It may not be on the...

    Taking medicine to the States?

We will be leaving and heading back to the US in the next few weeks (depending on the visa interview this Thursday) and I am considering taking a 6 month supply of my medication with me. The medicine is for acid reflex, and what they make here is much more effective than what I was using before...

    Hello BAExpats!

That sounds like an awesome trip! If you kept a blog or took photos, I would love to see them and see what your trip was like. I hope you enjoy your time in Buenos Aires!

Don't run, fly--- a different way to get to Uruguay

For the record, I asked her for the details in a PM, and she sent me the link and told me about her experiences with the service. Anyone who wants to know about this just has to ask. I don't see what all the fuss is about whether there should be a link or not.

Paying for health insurance with foreign cards

We used a foreign debit card to pay the payments on our insurance. But that was until June of last year. I don't know if you can still do it, but I would suggest not doing any automatic bill paying even if you are able to.

    Claro customer service

Hate to tell you this, but Claro's customer service is awful. And even moreso when they know that you don't speak Spanish well. But to contact them, you should be able to press star (*) 611 and press talk and that should get you to customer service. You can call from 8 until 10. Be prepared to...

Drought in Argentina, what will happen in 1 year?

Could this be what finally breaks the back of this so called economy? I haven't heard one good piece of economic news from Argentina in who knows how long. Between inflation, this drought, not allowing imports and God knows what other problems there are here, I don't think this economy can...

    US Television

Cuevana was actually shut down for a day or so a few months ago. But they were back up and running in no time. But it took it's toll...the site is not the same. I find it to be slower, harder to find what I want to watch, and the sites that they use to stream the videos are just not of the same...

Powdered milk + other hiking foods

Powered milk is Leche en Polvo by Serenisima or Sancor and you can buy them at just about every supermarket in the city, and I would imagine in the provinces as well. As for the dehydrated foods or hiking food, I wouldn't have a clue. The South American Explorers Club might be able to shed...

What exactly is El Dia de la Mujer?

Most people probably aren't aware that this is an international day. I never heard of it back in the States. No need to attack expats for not knowing that...

What exactly is El Dia de la Mujer?

Well, since it is on March 8, it better be the day that my wife's immigrant visa is finally approved. So I guess we'll see if the US Embassy follows Dia de la Mujer here.

Block those cruise ships, show them what's what!

Lets do the math. There was at least 5000 passengers on the two boats. If each of those passengers spends 10 dollars while in town (and lets face it, that is a very conservative estimate), that is 50,000 dollars that they just threw down the drain. I am sure that the Chilenos won't have an issue...

Block those cruise ships, show them what's what!

Haha, this is funny more than anything. What does this do to the English? The only thing that this did was prevent all those tourist with money from spending some of it in Argentina. This whole thing with the Falklands is a joke. Argentina need to focus on its own problems, rising inflation...

Cost of English / Spanish translation service?

It depends on how much content you need translated on your site. I will say that the certified translators here in Argentina charge a pretty penny for their services. I paid 800 pesos for a translator that I was forced to hire for our 15 minute wedding ceremony. And that was 800 pesos with the...

    Holiday Dates in Argentina

If there is an app, I doubt that they would be able to update it fast enough to keep up with all the new holidays.
