For a long time I was looking for an au pair job in Buenos Aires and used aupairworld. Have read and heard horrible things about the au pair in Argentina agency!

Maybe I'm just ignorant to the whole homeschooling thing, but isn't a 4 year old just in preschool? Singing songs, coloring, playing...does that really count as homeschooling?

From what I've gathered from reading this forum is that it's better for me to bring a cheap unlocked cell phone from the US and then purchase a sim card in Argentina. I don't want to bring my iPhone (plus it's not unlocked) but I do have a Samsung t239 that works perfectly and is unlocked...

Where can I buy a good hair straightener in Buenos Aires and about how much can I expect to pay? I don't mean one of the crappy farmacity ones! What brands are popular in arg? The last few times Ive been there my $$$ us straightener refused to work despite different outlets, plugs...

Would Bonpland/Cordoba be a better location than Aguero/soler? Sorry- so confused trying to figure this out by myself!

She not he :p I am fairly familiar with Buenos Aires and like the Palermo area, I am not just not at all familiar with street names or intersections, I can only remember big monuments, where things are in relation to certain restaurants and shops!

yes it is. I'm looking at it on a map right now. Soler, Aguero and Cabrera all intersect at one point near a place called "glam dance"

Thank you!! Are you at all familiar with the area around Soler/Aguero? Im a bit confused as I can't tell if its Palermo or if its Barrio Norte or Recoleta, ha! Is it a nice, safe, area? What about Bonpland and Cordoba?

The shopping addiction may be a problem. Hopefully I got it all out of my system on my last trip after getting back to the states and realizing all I bought was pure crap :p

That is horrible, I'm so sorry that happened to you! Last time I was in BA for a few months I took taxis all over by myself and luckily only had one problem (and compared to this it is teeny tiny!) when I decided to go to Jumbo rather than the little supermarket by my piso one day. Got a taxi...
