How to change a truck's category to casa rodante, so it can be driven with a licensia común (B)?

I was told at the dirección de tránsito that if a vehicle is for "uso particular casa rodante", and if it's actual, final weight does not exceed 3500 kilograms, then it is legally driveable with a B license, even if its "peso bruto" (maximum loaded weight) was 5000kg-6000kg. I've since met a guy...

    Moneygram

Take note, MoneyGram will give you a much worse rate (official, about 940 today I think) and take a flat fee on top. Whereas WU usually gives 1220(?) pesos per dollar (close to blue rate) and if there is any flat fee at all, it's smaller. ...So if you can wait for WU to return to service, I...

    Moneygram

MoneyGram is one alternative. Believe they're all over Argentina. And they seem to be more concentrated around the main cities.

    Western Union transfers

I have residence status in Paraguay, but I cannot get a USD account there for the time being. I can drag cash across the border repeatedly, but it means converting USD->PYG(implicit when using Wise to get funds to PY)->ARS which needless to say will be costly. Or if the buyer will accept...

How an Argentine Can Get a Bank Account in the USA

I don't think it's at all impossible. I know someone in Paraguay who did it using a Wyoming (?) registration of some kind. He is however an EU citizen if I recall correctly. No idea how easy or hard it will be for an Argentinian.

    Western Union transfers

Using WU as a tourist: Is there a limit on the amount of money I can bring in? Is it $10000 per visit? Will Western Union (Argentina) themselves limit me in any way? Is there likely to be any future issue once I become formally resident in Argentina, if I bring in cash multiple times this way...

    Western Union money transfer

Yes the 10.000 notes are now common from ATMs even in distant provinces (in the north).

Consitutional approach to naturalisation / citizenship?

Hi Arvest, did you ever complete this process?

To be or not to be... a Monotributario

Thanks for clarifying. While I broadly agree with "ignorance of the law is no excuse", there are cases where it is almost unreasonable to say "know the law" (and not only here in Argentina). What regular citizen can afford to contact a tax lawyer for every single detail? It's a minefield, really.

To be or not to be... a Monotributario

Howdy Luke, Thanks for bringing this second order of categorisation to my attention. I had no idea until you mentioned it. It moderately annoying that even though I read numerous (including official AFIP) sources on the monotributo, I saw nothing about this until now. Hi Quilombo, to be clear...

To be or not to be... a Monotributario

It seems with the recent Ley Bases amendments to the monotributo and Bienes Personales tax regimes, it is possible to live an affordable life in Argentina without being taxed into an early grave. Q1. As I understand it,as of 1 August 2024, even at the maximum category K of the monotributo...

Consitutional approach to naturalisation / citizenship?

Hmm. Did you see any progress on this since April? About leaving and return... I'm not sure I follow. Was there some legislative change? One way or another, thousands of dollars will be paid, either in tuition fees, or to lawyers. Free university courses apply only to existing foreign residents.

Consitutional approach to naturalisation / citizenship?

Such a shame; I could imagine there being many people who could live on far less outside B.A. and still contribute to local economies. 4 hectares if I'm lucky and if it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. More if I can make some gran amigos with las familias out in el campo. Quite so, my friend...

Consitutional approach to naturalisation / citizenship?

Thank you, @steveinbsas. I wondered... assuming you know about such things... 1. Would I be able to study for free in Argentina if I were already "in-country" as it were on the irregular citizenship path we discussed... e.g. agriculture-related distance-learning course? this obviously helping...

Consitutional approach to naturalisation / citizenship?

Hi all, am newbie here... I noticed some talk on this forum of a "constitutional" approach to gaining citizenship. Apparently you have to enter and stay in Argentina for something like 2+ years and talk to your lawyer (I believe there is one lawyer in particular who specialises in this) who...
