    Militant Byclist

I was referring to commuting, there are sufficient numbers of locals getting around on bikes that drivers are certainly used to seeing them on the road. I've never had problems here. Again, you'll never know unless you give it a try.

    Militant Byclist

Cycling here is really not as bad as some would have you believe, all you need to do is get in the saddle and find out for yourself. Critical Mass Buenos Aires

    Eva the musical

Oddly, great swathes of these people would no doubt proclaim support for the campo in the recent disputes with the government. Evita would have rained hellfire down upon them.

    kindle 2

I can't say reading from a conventional PDA screen has ever bothered me, but still I'd like to see one maybe it would make a convert out of me.

    kindle 2

I've been using PDA's to read on the road for nearly a decade - is this really such an improvement, or just an iPhone like piece of gimmickry?

Some pick Argentina as haven from economic blues

...more rich kids playing artiste, but take away the trust fund and they would magically transform from media freelancers, actors and writers into more fodder for the English institutes.

Whatever happened to the Obama sycophants?

The man is undead, he roams the foggy back alleys of the global village with his band of super-intelligent Chicago Boys School Club shock therapy zombies dispensing death and misery to anyone mentioning tariffs and barriers.

Why Argentine Women are so Angry!

The author seems to not only think BA is a Brazilian city but also that gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid would be a legitimate and sufficient substitute for his lack of charisma.

You mean you haven't read The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything (otherwise known as Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine)?

    Food revolution bypasses Buenos Aires

I think in a lot of the 'developing world' what is considered ethnic or exotic food is mostly the exclusive domain of the moneyed minority, which makes me wonder if we perhaps expect too much from Buenos Aires in terms of culinary diversity because on the surface it looks so familiar and...

    Food revolution bypasses Buenos Aires

I wasn't really after an apology, I was more interested in your different take on that thread - anyway, we are approaching 100 posts and this is going off topic again.

    Food revolution bypasses Buenos Aires

Yes, but still, attributing the ignorance directly to someone would still be more rude, say for instance: I enjoy discussions, corrections etc too, but I'm still waiting for this particular correction from you Nikad. ;)

    Mosquito bites - protect yourself

I don't want to put a dampener on the hysteria but does anyone know if there's been a confirmed case of dengue contracted in Buenos Aires?

Try Jujuy a few blocks either side of the autopista - its a catering/restaurant wholesale precinct.

    Buses

Agreed, can anyone shed light on this? I was starting to formulate a theory that the fare increases as the total distance the bus has travelled increases, regardless of the length of the passenger's route. This seemed to work for a while but has now been blown out of the water many times and so...
