I think you have right directions. Start at Cordoba and walk with the numbers getting smaller. At Corrientes turn around & go back towards Cordoba. Have fun! :D

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I've been looking around & am so overwhelmed! PS, I also love Malabia House. They don't have a twin room though. 140-170 right now.

    Hotel Help for a Slacker!

Thanks. I'm going to recommend some of these and then send them the a short list of links. At the end of the day, they are going to have to pick. I just don't want to recommend something that's crap. LOL. :) Bobo is very nice. But I think also expensive, no? Last time I looked there it was in...

    Hotel Help for a Slacker!

Thanks everyone. :) I don't know their exact budget. They said "not too expensive" which we all know could be anything! Since they are adults, I'm guessing it's closer to the US$150 rather than the US$50 mark. Then again, I haven't looked for hotels in BA in years. I don't know the prices...

    Hotel Help for a Slacker!

Ok, Ok. Yes. I spaced out. I have a friend & her mom visiting next week. She asked for hotel recommendations & I totally slacked off and just remembered now. They need something not too expensive (if that exists?!), clean & safe. I'd like them to be near me in Palermo. Any tips/advice? Any...

    And now some good news

That's great news!! Our land lord too was very reasonable when our 2 year lease came up. The rent went up marginally & the removed the penalty clause. & the landlord at them studio is amazing. I'll miss her so much when I leave. :( Anyway, Yeah!! for good landlords!!

    What has changed?

A bit weird to put Lula in the same category as Gadaffi & Chavez. But that Fidel guy is hanging on to life with a steel grip.

Teatro Colon: only $2,600 a seat!

I didn't mind how far we were in terms of view. But I have to say the steepness was kinda scary! See now I wouldn't have known I missed out on the Salon Dorado & the confiteria if you hadn't told me. :( Is it worth $2,600? :D (J/K)

    Exchange Rate Robbery or Reasonable?

Well, Ok. Thanks for that. :D My opinion is worth what you paid for it. I'll even give you the official rate of exchange. :D

Teatro Colon: only $2,600 a seat!

\ I didn't say you said they were obstructed. I said I paid 270 for unobstructed seats for a different opera which I didn't find to be too bad a price. I actually thought it would be more. The seats were quite good, not ants but not up close and personal either. lol. Yup. I'm in the Wagner...

    Exchange Rate Robbery or Reasonable?

I was going to say we can agree to disagree. But I don't actually disagree with the entirety of what you are writing. In some cases it is best to find a new place to live. It would be nice if you stop insulting people who disagree with you. I do not have a "chip on my shoulder" nor am I on a...

Teatro Colon: only $2,600 a seat!

Not that I will argue there is no inflation and the price of that opera is totally outrageous. But pick something else and the prices aren't nearly that. Well, at least not for unobstructed but up high. I went to the opera in August and paid AR$270 unobstructed. They weren't the cheapest...

    Exchange Rate Robbery or Reasonable?

Right. And I didn't have problem with it when it was possible to buy dollars openly. If you can buy dollars legally, great. But most people can not. Now it is not possible thus pushing people to the illegal black market or insisting they pay the black market rate. That is not fair. And if they...

    Exchange Rate Robbery or Reasonable?

And that my friend is exactly my point! Landlords insisting on black market dollar rates are not exactly playing by the law. Or are they?

    Anyone bought us$ this week?

Yes. It seems they are giving us an excuse. I don't think I have time to go to court. Let's see in a few weeks if everything gets settled with AFIP. Let's hope we can get this settled before we leave or else our only solution it to send money via credit/debit cards or go visit the black market...

    Exchange Rate Robbery or Reasonable?

If I live here & earn peso the exchange rate is not relevant to me. In fact, I'm one the muppets who just left our saving here, in pesos. Everyone said change money the minute you get it. I didn't and look where that got me. I don't earn dollars so the exchange rate of 1.5 won't help me in...
