Welcome! Definitely a good idea to live near your work if it's a possibility. Most people who are living within capital federal commute around an hour to get to work. Being able to walk will save you a lot of time and stress so go for it!

From what I've heard, foreigners on a tourist visa are allowed to renew their visa at migraciones, but only one time. Is this true? Also, will this mean that they'll definitely give you the ulitima prorroga stamp, or just a new 90 days? Thanks
