Am I a little nuts to choose BA? Help.

Nicoenarg..I don't know why you're on some mission to bring everyone down to your pessimistic level that hates this country. Maybe you had a bad experience that made you this way, but most people are able to look beyond the flaws of a country and focus on the reasons we came here in the first...

Am I a little nuts to choose BA? Help.

I'm a bit shocked at how negative all the responses are. The bottom line is that BA is a great city with an incredibly interesting culture. Yes, parts of it are dangerous, but that goes for most major cities in the world. Go while you're young, because in 10 years the experience will not be...

    Hot Sauce

Hey Steveinbsas do you have advice for both?? Salsa = sauce in Spanish but I see how it can cause confusion. My intention is to find hot sauce/salsa picante...as opposed to what we would call salsa in English for nachos, etc.

    Hot Sauce

YaYa Guys, Thank you for your level of concern and the apology. I've responded to your PM with details about what happened. It's become clear that my experience was an unusual one and I so I'm willing to give you guys the benefit of the doubt and accept the apology. That being said, I'd love...

    Hot Sauce

Thanks for all the great suggestions..the Pancho Villa hot sauce looks great, I'll definitely be giving it a try! It wasn't my intention to make this thread about smack-talking and I'm sorry if it came across that way, but from my experience they were condescending and rude - which merits a bit...

    Hot Sauce

I'm reasonably new to BAExpats (4 months) so I'm sure that this thread has come up in the past, but I'd love to get peoples' opinions about where to find the best hot sauces in BA. I'm aware of the guys selling at the San Telmo market, and they're product is somewhat decent - kind of a spicy...

    Weekend kickball/dodgeball anyone?

I would definitely be up for dodgeball, I used to play all the time. Let me know if this comes together! I could probably bring 2 or 3 others.

    Question about teaching English

It does get a little bit easier, being that you can charge more money (for example I charge $50 pesos/hr for a private lesson with a private student, or $35 pesos/student/hour if it's a group). This lets you bring in a bit of extra cash, but it's difficult to find these students. After a few...

    Question about teaching English

I have to disagree with that one. I've been living in BA for about 4 months now teaching English. While it's difficult to get started (filling up your schedule with classes, etc), after a month or so living here on a teaching salary is perfectly reasonable. On average I earn 53 pesos per hour...
