    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

Certainly happier days! I yearn for some good chips. I’ll never understand the propensity for the seemingly ubiquitous topping of liquid “cheese” that permeates across seemingly any establishment in CABA. It does make me wonder whether such sub-par chips in Argentina are recognised or merely...

    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

I still don’t think I’ve had any good chips (fries) in Argentina besides a Belgian chips place that was in Mercado San Telmo. I was gutted when I went there a few months ago and it was replaced by a dulce de leche shop

    Applecare

To follow up: it did indeed take 3 weeks. Replacement was shipped from China. Interestingly, I didn’t have to pay any excess for the replacement under AppleCare whilst I’d have had to pay £79 in the UK. Arguably offset by the wait but hopefully useful information.

    Hotel prices this weekend

Does anybody know why there are almost no hotels or airbnbs available this weekend and any that are seem to be exorbitantly expensive? Seems very strange to me. I neglected to extend my accommodation and will have to spend the weekend in La plata as it seems this is the only place with any kind...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

Although aren’t prices arguably cheaper than BA? Posadas for example everything seemed half the price if not less than BA. Without ties to CABA I’d be more inclined by other cities in Argentina

    Applecare

In case this helps anybody, I went to OneClick in Palermo Soho and they’ve sent it off for a replacement covered by AppleCare+ and it will apparently take up to 3 weeks

    Applecare

Sorry to hijack on an old thread but is it known if phones can be repaired under AppleCare Plus (UK bought) within Argentina?

Is Argentina Still a Good Deal?

Does anybody notice quite a regional disparity? I was stunned at how cheap Posadas was compared to Buenos Aires. Anecdotally, I earn in GBP and the exchange rate and inflation has meant a huge rise in costs for me in the last year. Many things are European prices if not higher. I’ve started to...

Food prices are amongst the highest of the planet

Anecdotally I’ve noticed a lot of places jump their prices around 10% this week concurrently after having been flat for a while. Seems odd to me how coordinated it seems to be

    Overstay options

Thank you very much for the reassurance. I’ve pushed my flight back a few months. Hopefully the length of overstay doesn’t matter too much! I’ve pushed back to October so far but am likely to push my return flight back again until February or March

    Overstay options

Thanks for the advice! It seems like overstaying is my best option. Will I have any problems getting domestic flights whilst past my tourist visa expiry? Hoping I don’t need to cram some last minute visits to other cities before I lose the ability to

    Overstay options

Thank you for the information! Is it preferable to overstay rather than day trip to Uruguay? I’d be nervous about potentially being refused entry for a blatant visa run. Besides western union are there any other adverse implications to overstaying the tourist visa? I’m not sure if it changes...

    Overstay options

Hi, I’m hoping to ascertain some advice as to my current options regarding overstaying my tourist visa in Argentina. Apologies given this is a fairly common question but I wanted to seek some answers more unique to my situation I’m from the UK and spent 3 months in Argentina at the beginning...
