    Crime in Argentina

The local slang term for them is "Pungas". They usually work in teams and target women or tourist. Some years ago I helped a pair of American tourist that had just been robbed while sitting in a cafe at the San Telmo Flea market. I live in the Constitution neighborhood of BA not the safest. One...

Anywhere I can rent a PO box?

They're called Casillas de Correo. They have them here at the Avenida de Mayo 770 branch of Correo Argentino. Just three blocks from 9 the Julio Ave. You can see them from the sidewalk as they're next to the window pane against the wall. Also the main branch in Retiro should have them as well...

Is he still alive? The mystery of DB Cooper – the hijacker who disappeared

I think the real D.B. Is probably dead by now, otherwise he'd be pushing 90. Most likely he’s pushing daisies 🤪

Covid-19 shots & boosters available now in CABA

I got my flu vax a couple of weeks ago at the local Cecac clinic free of charge. The nurse there suggested I could get a pneumonia vax too. So I rolled up my sleeve on the left arm and got that one too. No negative side effects so far except for a sore arm on the right side for a few days...

Streaming Sports struggle......much bigger issue than a bank account or citizenship lol

Disney+ is the way to go. I watched (and still watching) Roland Garros, Yesterday was the UEFA CUP final. Now it’s the F1 race in Spain. Money well spent. When all else fails head over to the nearest local bar. They usually have several large screens strategically placed around the establishment.

    Private tour guide - BA

FYI July and August are the coldest months of the year here and it does get very cold. So bring whatever winter clothes you wear in NYC. You can buy cold weather clothes here but they are expensive and sometimes not worth the price.

Yankee Cartonero Who Knew the Villa Crespo Massacre Victims.

This is a very strange story of Roland Russell, a Yankee Cartonero who taught English to the family who were killed in the Villa Crespo murder suicide case.

    No Alcohol This Weekend.

I just came back from COTO. 8 PM Saturday it is. So you still have about an hour and 15 minutes to go for it. I'm good with my Chino guy so I can buy the goods even after the deadline limit. We've know each other since I moved here. And that's well over a decade.

    No Alcohol This Weekend.

No alcohol sold after 8:00 AM Friday and until 6:00 PM Sunday.. That includes beer and spirits. So maybe now is a good time to stock up on your favorite “Vino”... This is because of legislative election voting on Sunday. This also applies to bars and restaurants. It's called "Veda Electoral".

    English-speaking ENT

I was there last year when I got hit with a nasty ear infection. The address is Pasteur 740. The service was very good. One thing to keep in mind is that they only accept payments with debit cards. No CC. Or at least that’s what it was as of last November.

Any dollar ATMs in the city now?

Early this year I went to Uruguay for the weekend just for a little R & R. I wanted to test the rumor that one could get US dollars from the ATM machines there. I must have hit over half a dozen banks trying to get dollars from my US based CC but could never get it to work. Finally I asked the...
