Cheapest / Best EOR Employer of Record for Argentina

When I was in this situation for a US-based startup, they used Deel to hire me en blanco in Argentina and paid me in USD with a USD salary account in Uruguay. They kept the ARCA folks happy by converting to pesos at official, paying taxes based on that, then converting back to USD at the same...

Moving Sale - Last Call - Belgrano

Hi y'all, I'm in the final stretch of my move and I still have a handful of things left that need to be rehomed. All prices are negotiable, and I've built in some discounts for anyone who can pay in BRL via Pix, since it'll keep me from having to go to the cambio when I get to Brazil. I'd...

    International Movers

In our case, it's partially because my wife misses Brazil, partially because the quality of the fruits/vegetables here is mediocre at best compared to Brazil, partially because we really can't get a house that fits all of our needs, within our budget in BA, and partially because our cost of...

For Sale: 1997 Alfa Romeo 155 + Household Goods (Belgrano / Cap Fed)

I've put together the list, and also dropped the price of the car. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfGQC2sur-WAlS5jRr3li8LpnuiC-so30_NE1jD6hqs/edit?gid=0#gid=0

    International Movers

Nazareno has been trying to figure out who referred us to him, and I've got to say, easily the most professional moving company I've ever dealt with, ever. Super on-the-ball, awesome to work with, friendly. They make it easy, 10/10 recommendation.

For Sale: 1997 Alfa Romeo 155 + Household Goods (Belgrano / Cap Fed)

We're getting ready to leave Argentina, and kicking off the process of selling our stuff here. I'm going to put together a list of stuff that we're selling over the next few days, but the car is definitely at the top of the list, so it's going on here first. I'll edit this post with the full...

    International Movers

So, after ~3 years in BA for me and 2 years for my wife, we're getting ready to pack up and move across the border to Brazil. However, we have a couple of bigger things we want to keep, such as the dishwasher, keyboard, plus other odds and ends. Does anyone have any recommendations for movers...

    Buying A Car

As long as you've got CUIT/CUIL, you can buy a car and register it. You'll need to go with the seller down to the DMV, but it's not a terrible process.

FBI Background Check while living in Argentina

Yep, I did the PDF background check by mailing the cards to them, then used that to get the apostille. They make it easy, truly. Good folks over there, and they're very quick

High Schools' selection and value in BA. Is Lincoln the best choice?

A friend of mine went here, and it's easily one of the top schools in the country. https://www.cnba.uba.ar/ Definitely one of the best public schools in Argentina

    U.S. Drivers License

I got an IDP for my Argentine license at ACA Palermo last week. $7000 ARS and it's good for a year.

Ciudad del Este without crossing through Brazil

When I got mine (the week they opened applications the first time, so the process was a disaster at the time), it took me a week start to finish, with no issues. Fill in the form, have your documentation in place prior and for the love of God, hand someone else the phone to take your picture...

Cost of living in Argentina for foreigners improving?

When my wife moved here, Buenos Aires was significantly cheaper in most aspects than Rio de Janeiro. Now that we're looking at moving to Brazil, we're calculating a roughly 50% cut in our expenses, even factoring in getting a much more expensive property than our current apartment. We're...

FBI Background Check while living in Argentina

You should be able to do it through DHL or FedEx. There's also a UPS office at Cabildo y Virrey Loreto, if you prefer them for whatever reason.

A few goodies popping up on ML

Old thread bump, but I saw the Dr Pepper at Jumbo in Palermo on Sunday for around 4k pesos/can. I bought four cans.

FBI Background Check while living in Argentina

I used Monument Visa to handle mine, apostille and all, without stepping foot outside Argentina. Went to the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia for the ink fingerprints, sent them to Monument via DHL and they handled the rest/sent it back, since they're an FBI channeler too. DHL is your best...

    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

I mean, I do like beans and rice a lot, but it's not just that. I strongly, strongly recommend getting out and just trying various places if you're in Brazil, and you'll find a pretty solid variety of options, fantastic fruits and vegetables, and meat that was cooked with seasoning. Even KFC...

    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

I was content with the Argentine Standard Menu for probably the first two years I was here, but the longer I'm here the more I'm tired of it. We're at the point we're seriously considering relocating to Brazil, getting some land and enjoying life in a place that has cheaper, seasoned food.

100 songs I would have in a virtual jukebox

My dad was a huge Neil Diamond fan, to the point where my sister was named after the song "Shilo". I also caught Dad's love for Jethro Tull, Sinatra, CCR and several other greats, but Neil is the only one who wrote a song good enough to name a kid after. I can't say Neil is even in my top ten...

    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

Their instagram says they're pet-friendly, and they do have a pretty big space with lots of outdoor and covered seating, so I'd be willing to bet they actually are.
