    Assistance to go to hospital

You can try to contact some elderly service, there are some and they should be able to lift you there. But from what I read, you might want to call ambulance straight to the hospital, 130 days in the bed and having difficulties to walk is too serious, I'd call ambulance.

    Salsa and meeting new people

You believe what you wanna believe, if San Telmo is safe for you. I'm just trying to help. People got robbed there, and all my local friends told me the same, nobody likes it there.

    Salsa and meeting new people

San Telmo isn't safe to visit neither to stay, also try to avoid microcentral like Retiro or Constitution. Just go Palermo find a hippie cafe, at one point some local will definitely talk to you, especially if you're European.... As for the school, many offers things like 2 hours per week...

I just went Bariloche and a Big Mac cost me 13,000 pesos

I personally would not trust any etfs with leverage, not even 2X. Neither I'm qualified to invest safely into those Xed funds, they have diminishing value on daily basis. So if I get it right, Bariloche is like Manhattan of Argentina, where many traders living in the woods? And some how they...

Hit by Chinese imports, Argentina’s textile industry is reeling

Where did you get the 4k pesos underwear? 4K can't get you a pound of ground beef, also a plastic chair at Vea is labeled 40,000 pesos. Do you have some articles where I can read about your referring quote "Argentina actually makes a lot of stuff that other countries want to buy"? Really...

I just went Bariloche and a Big Mac cost me 13,000 pesos

That makes me wonder how they would preserve their wealth, in gold? In hard cash dollar? Foreign accounts? But I don't think old money would be the cause of everything is more expensive than BA

I just went Bariloche and a Big Mac cost me 13,000 pesos

So I just finished my four days vacation in Bariloche, the last time I was there was last year october. Things were slightly more expensive than Buenos Aires. I didn't expect the big mac at the McDonald to be 13K pesos versus 8K in Buenos Aires. A full meal in Bariloche at McDonald cost me 28K...

Looking for a private Spanish tutor/teacher in Buenos Aires

Plenty of tutors from any language institution, although it can be pricey, but it's in person, it's better. Or you can try Preply, it's online one on one. I hired a former professor from University of Salvador as my private spanish tutor for past two years, and she only charges me 15 dollar per...

Hit by Chinese imports, Argentina’s textile industry is reeling

it doesn't exist, it's delusional to think about Argentina would do good in fabric industry. Not every country is the same, or to follow the same path.

Hit by Chinese imports, Argentina’s textile industry is reeling

I don't think 10 USD for a pair of low quality Argentine made underwear in Jumbo super market make any sense neither. Quality and affordability is far more important for Argentine and expats than worry about China destroys the near none-exist fabric industry, In fact they need to catch up...

Keeping US bank cards while living in Argentina?

3850 dollar per month, my friend who worked at USDA got fired this year doesn't even make this much. I don't think many would make this much in Argentina either. My expenses in Palermo is around 1500 in total including rent, and yet fullly decent. 4K must be for a family.
