I don’t believe AMEX uses MEP. A few weeks back I couldn’t get burquebus to accept my US visa so I tried US Amex. Went thru but the rate was like 930, the official rate. Not great and won’t do that again.

Any more recent experiences booking on Aerolineas with a US credit card? Earlier posts mention they somehow charge you in USD at the official rate, note the MEP rate. Is this still the case?
