    Why I'm An Anti-Anti-Zionist

I am not Jewish and don't consider myself ANY religion for that matter though I do believe in god in my own way. However, being from New York City and growing up around a lot of Jewish people, they are just like everyone else. They want the best for themselves and their families. If you look at...

Will The Blue Us Historical $13,10 Max Be Broken Soon ?

People are forgetting what each subsequent raise in the blue rate brings to Argentina (besides a few extra pesos in your hand). Believe me I have participated in this fiasco myself, however I don't feel good about it, honestly. But like everyone else temptation gets the best of me. Just remember...

Expat Owner Rents House For Incredible Price

I am not a real estate agent, however $10,000 pesos rent for that house is about market rate. I sometimes go on the weekends to Maschwitz (Escobar) to a friend's house in a country (gated community) called Acacias Blancas, which is maybe 15 minutes from where this house is. My friend also owns...

    Rent Nightmare

That's fine if you don't agree about the kids issue, and in this case I am not giving advice about how you should deal with your kids as I know not being a parent is much different than looking in from the outside. But we all were children, and in my house I was never allowed to do anything that...

    Rent Nightmare

Sorry to hear that you are having these problems. My advice is to send the landlord a carta documento regarding the items that are not working, however if you signed a contract that states certain things are working / not working or part of the inventory and it turns out they are not, you will...

Will The Blue Us Historical $13,10 Max Be Broken Soon ?

I know to many this is cause for celebration, however as the blue rate climbs higher, your fellow Argentines slip deeper and deeper into poverty, and if any of you think of all of this new found money you think you have, just remember, that as soon as the blue rate goes higher, prices of...

    Buying Property In Argentina

If you buy and are satisfied that you may acquire a nice property at a fairly low price, knowing that you may never be able to get the money out of the country if you decide to sell it one day, then it's probably a good time to buy. Prices are VERY low compared to other large cities around the...

Comedian Robin Williams Dead: Apparent Suicide.

Very few "genuine" actors / actresses left on the planet as of late...Robin Williams had real talent that can not be duplicated. He was one of the great actors of modern times. Truly a big loss to all....RIP

Horrible Restaurant: La Coqueta José Evaristo Uriburu 1680

AFIP - Agencia Federal de Ingresos Públicos......it's the Argentine version of the IRS, and they don't play around! I used to work for a company that was audited by AFIP...we think some disgruntled employee reported them for all kinds of things after she was fired, anyway the inspectors came in...

Horrible Restaurant: La Coqueta José Evaristo Uriburu 1680

You should report them to AFIP for not giving you a legal receipt. Not providing a receipt to a customer is a serious offense in AFIP's eyes and agianst the tax code.

Horrible Restaurant: La Coqueta José Evaristo Uriburu 1680

The fiscalía is the office of the public prosecutor. It's one of the few government offices where they will take your complaint and swiftly handle the issue. I've dealt with them several times, once over a building consorcio issue and once when I had a problem with a business in the ground...

Horrible Restaurant: La Coqueta José Evaristo Uriburu 1680

Make sure you post this on Trip Advisor, Guia Oleo, Yelp, Facebook and file a complaint with defensa al consumidor. These establishments should be put out of business ASAP!! Also go to the fiscalía and file a complaint against them there. It's located at Bartolomé Mitre 1735. Here's the link...

    Can't Even Enjoy A Movie...

This is one of the very reasons why I have decided to leave Argentina. This kind of behavior is SO counterproductive and is so ingrained in 90% of the Argentine's psyche and I can't imagine it will change during my lifetime as Peronism and it's followers strongly believe that constant protesting...

Cleaning Stainless Steel Pots And Pans

Yeah, boil lavandina (a/k/a chlorine bleach) and once the fumes asphyxiate you, your entire family and maybe the pets and neighbors too, your pots and pans will be all sparkly clean!! THIS IS CRAZY- CHLORINE GAS IS MORE TOXIC THAN MUSTARD GAS!! A great non-toxic and environmentally friendly way...

Your Inflation Experience: At The Zoo

The shops in Liniers are located along calle José Leon Suárez for about 3 blocks between Rivadavia & Bosch Ventura. There are probably 50-60 small shops that sell every possible spice, nut, seed, oil, exotic product, produce, fish and meat you can find all at great prices. The area is VERY...
