Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

My parents travelled on 9th November. When they filled out the paperwork with their TWO Astra Zeneca vaccines it came out as “not fully vaccinated”. They were allowed to enter no problem and when they arrived at their destination, Provincia Neuquen, they got an email from the region. It stated...

Reduced flight schedules and current entry / exit requirements

My parents just arrived in Bariloche. They can report that the arrival at EZE has never been faster and in a couple of hours they were at Jorge Newberry. My dad’s biggest complaint was that the nice cafeteria at Jorge has been replaced by a Starbucks. He is not a fan! Sorry. Apparently there...

    Road Trip to Bariloche

If you like hiking and nature you should get in touch with CABA. They can point out a couple of hikes with overnight cabins in the mountains. I haven’t done any of the ones close to Bari, but I have been to Tronador. If you have got time and money you drive there one day, stay at the histeria in...

    Road Trip to Bariloche

What is reliable Internet to you? We have been teaching online on a 4mb connection with students on a similar connection that only works if it isn’t snowing. I was gob smacked to find out that the owner of the school had 56mb at her home in Buenos Aires. I’m in Villa la Angostura so I would...

The cons of living in Bariloche

I’m lucky enough to have a fiber optic connection so the only threat is someone digging up the cable. They are probably on a point to point connection on a mountain. I have students who cannot carry a zoom call if it’s raining. To much interference.

The cons of living in Bariloche

Flaky Internet for sure. In Villa the top that you can buy is 10 mb. But, then again my husband works for IBM on 4mb. So, you know, what do you really need? And lately he works, the children do online school and I teach on 4 mb. And we survive, barely ….

The cons of living in Bariloche

BankNote, do you like rain? No, it’s like visiting Sweden. You gamble and sometimes winter is fine, other times it’s really bad with rain every day. And did I mention the wind? I try not to go to Bari in winter so truly I’m not a reliable source but I imagine horizontal rain. Maybe I’m just...

The cons of living in Bariloche

If he doesn’t want the easy way out Dina Huapi is the place. A small community outside Bariloche with only the basics and even more wind. But it’s cheaper than Bari.

The cons of living in Bariloche

I think it’s a crazy place for all the reasons above. I prefer to stay on the other side of the lake where we are protected by the mountains.

Neighbor's dogs knocked over fence, mauled other neighbor's dog in front of my kid. Can I do anything?

I used to play “start - stop” with my children at the age of two. I’d yell start, and they would start running. Then when I yelled stop they would stop to wait for me to catch up. Then I’d give them a sweet, or some praise. Now they stop on a dime when I yell stop. The oldest is 15. I also use...

    Seeking a bagpiper

Contact el colegio San Andres (st. andrew’s). When I worked there ten years ago there was an ex alumni who played the bagpipes. They might be able to help you.

Rage boils over amid Argentina’s unrelenting femicide crisis

No, for a toxic relationship you need one toxic person and one other person who is too scared or weak to end it. In the case of the murder in Villa la Angostura there was one toxic person and another person constantly reporting him to the police who did nothing. Education has everything to do...

Rage boils over amid Argentina’s unrelenting femicide crisis

It may not be a crisis but it can be avoided in the future if we dare to educate our young to be inclusive and fair. the murder of Guadalupe could have been avoided if the planets had aligned. If the “friend” had understood that the aggressor was in the wrong. If the justice department had...

To get or renew your driver's license, you will have to complete courses on patriarchy, masculinity and gender.

Maybe, if his mates had been “forced” to take the course they would have told him that he was crazy and he could have gotten help before this tragic event occurred. But, before anyone starts shouting FEMINAZI I’ll tell you that as a proud feminist mother of three boys I don’t like the...

Importing art and/or medication into Argentina

Importing any medication is very difficult. I haven’t tried, but have stood in line behind someone who was trying to get her vitamins. Before you try you should get a step by step instruction from aduana. Even then, who knows. Hopefully someone with actual experience can weigh in on the matter.

    CUIL vs CUIT ?

The corrections question is, do you need a QUIT? Are planning on being self employed? And paying Monotributo. Otherwise you will not be issued a QUIT. It isn’t a requirement to have one.

Machismo and Gender Equality in Argentina

Your not doing a great job of explaining how you want to be addressed. I assume that you want to be addressed as they, them, their, theirs and themselves (alternatively themself) Is that so?
