Applying for Family Reunification Visa with Argentine Girlfriend - Advice Please

First of all, congratulations on your relationship. I'm going to start with the things I definitely do know about and then get increasingly vague as I move on to things I think I know about but other people will probably know better than me. Yes, there is a UK certficado de soltería - it's...

Any reasonable alternatives to relying on traditional health insurance?

I've accompanied patients to Hospital Aleman many times but never been a patient there myself so my opinions are based on that, alone. Because most patients there are directly on the Hospital Aleman plan or have been sent there by their obera social, I find it difficult to make a direct...

Reliable transportation from the city to EZE?

Really? I don't remember paying them like that in the past. And checking their website just a moment ago there was a splash screen offering a special low rate solo en efectivo.

Reliable transportation from the city to EZE?

These days we tend to use Taxi Ezeiza (https://taxiezeizaoficial.com/) for that route. They may or may not be the cheapest firm. I haven't compared their rates for a while because we are happy that they are reliable and efficient and that is what matters to us when we want to go to the airport.

Underwater robot live stream mesmerizes Argentines

But, but, but... How could you possibly drill for oil out there with all those Chinese fishing boats getting in the way?

    Problems with CABA's transportation system

Just to say that, as a speaker of British English, I just LOVE your use of "crap shoot" up there.

    Problems with CABA's transportation system

I'm still using my old Guia-T. I guess there must be people here who have never heard of Guia-T or is it still in print somewhere and I just haven't found it yet?

    Problems with CABA's transportation system

Good points, well made @hankscott . In my opinion, it comes down to money and culture. It's interesting for me to to see a New Yorker commenting on overcrowding since I've always believed that the role of Passenger Pusher originated on the New York subway and even though I don't think it has...

    Crime in Argentina

My two cents? I think random crime is far less prevalent in the small towns and pueblos but targeted crime will happen anywhere. Other posters have talked about their own home invasions in CABA: my late F-i-L had his CABA house broken into and robbed by people who must have patiently taken down...

Argentina Does The Impossible in Just 1 Year from Bankruptcy to Booming Economy

With nearly 15 billion YouTube videos out there and more being added at about 500 hours per minute (Wikipedia) how does anybody find stuff like this? Or does it just get added to a subscriber's feed? A quick look through their back catalogue will probably tell you everything you don't want to...

Digital Nomads: does Lisbon have any lessons for Buenos Aires?

Portugal and Argentina started their Digital Nomad visas within a few months of each other but Portugal's appeal has been massively more successful than any other similar scheme. One digital nomad in Lisbon talks about their experiences. Are there any lessons here for Buenos Aires...

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch says she is Britain’s chainsaw-wielding Javier Milei

Depending on your point of view it's already between 8% and 25% privatised. It's not just all the outsourcing: right from the start in 1948 General Practitioners have always been outside contractors because as a body they didn't agree with nationalisation and that was the only way the Atlee...

Has anyone successfully transferred US dollars directly into your US dollar bank account in AR

Remember, the purpose of all those questions surrounding bank transfers is to reduce money-laundering and fraud. If you think leaving a field like that blank wouldn't be a big, red flag to the systems, fair enough.

    Arranging travel insurance for visitors

Are you trying to buy travel insurance for someone else who is coming to visit Argentina. If I've got the wrong end of the stick, I apologise but having seen policies where the small print says things about declaring everything (including, now I'm older, whether I have made an appointment to see...

It's Time the World Woke Up and Noticed the Argentine Miracle

It's a great article for truthiness, isn't it? As you read it you can play 'spot the massaged statistic' and 'spot the alternative facts' both at the same time but as it is an opinion piece the bar for veracity seems to be set that much lower. I wonder whether the editor put his head round the...
